Is Acupuncture the new kale

New Beginnings Acapuncture and TCM Clinic - Screenshot_2016-05-13-12-25-22_rszIs Acupuncture the new kale

We all know how popular superfoods, like kale, are nowadays. Known for their health benefits and being nutrient dense they; are becoming more of a mainstream choice in our daily diets. Luckily we are all starting to get a fresh new grasp on the importance of healthy eating and what it means to take care of ourselves holistically in general.

I can honestly that, as well as healthy eating becoming more important, so are natural therapies like acupuncture and they are just as powerful :-). Traditional Chinese Medicine has been around for a couple of thousand years and is still just as relevant as a medicine today. It covers such a broad spectrum of health complaints including;

  • all kinds of digestive problems
  • low energy and energy slumps during the day
  • fatigue
  • sleep issues
  • stress related problems e.g irritability, hypochondriac pain, anger, weepiness, pain
  • anxiety and many other mental/emotional struggles
  • pain; dull, achy pain, acute, chronic, muscular, nerve pain
  • menstruation concerns
  • enhances fertility for both men and women and supports the Assisted Reproductive process
  • supports women throughout pregnancy
  • support for teenagers throughout a large range of difficulties
  • can enhance a person’s mood within an hour of treatment

Chinese medicine including Acupuncture is gentle and can compliment other treatments you are experiencing. It is a vital element in the future of health and Integrative medicine. [read more …] “Is Acupuncture the new kale”

I hope that nothing prevented you from enjoying the wonderful Bank Holiday weekend. The whole world seemed to have been on the move, with everybody out in the great out of doors, soaking up the sunshine and the atmostphere. Meeting the Great Muhammad Ali in the 1970s

When in the 1970s I was visiting relatives in Surrey I went to visit the headquarters of the BBC and just happened to be at the Reception Desk when I became aware of an exciting group of people entering the front door of the famous building. I couldn't believe it when I became aware that it was the great Muhammad Ali with his entourage and supporters arriving to participate in a television interview. I so regretted not having had a camera with me on such an historic occasion but the memory is so precious. We offer our sincere sympathy to all of his family, friends and fans on the sad departure of this truly great and charismatic gentleman and sportsman to his Eternal Reward. (S.R.)

Eily’s Report 31st May

eily1

Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to Eily’s weekly Report.

A special Mass will be said in Millstreet Church this evening (Tuesday May 31st)for Eucharistic Adorers in Millstreet and  Cullen and for  people of the Parish. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 6.30 to 7.30, in the main church. Mass at 7.30. And all are welcome.

The lovely month of May is slipping away from us in the nicest possible way. Warm sunshine mixed with just the right amount of rain to boost all important growth. At the start of May the countryside still had that look of hurt, and damage following the awful weather of the winter months. But the man above who commands all things, didn’t let us down and in those four short weeks the picture has to be seen to be believed.

The explosion of green and colour and growth is on record levels, to my memory anyway. Baoichas le Dia.

Our past weekend saw crowds and crowds of people out enjoying the great out-of-doors. In our area at any rate the heavy rains of Sunday evening didn’t come until after six o’clock when events were over  and the Annual  Cloghoula School Pattern was a wonderful success. Well done to all the organisers.
