Mallow Credit Union now has 8 branches open across their Common Bond area, with 2 in Mallow (Main Street & Ballydaheen), Millstreet, Buttevant, Doneraile, Charleville, Dromcollogher and Broadford. There are a number of voluntary positions open on their Board of Directors, the Oversight Committee & Planning & Development Committee and they would like to invite members of the community to apply. These committees provide experience, learning and an active role within the credit union.
Mallow Credit Union relies on the enthusiasm and commitment of volunteers who give their time freely to develop and enhance the services of their credit union.

Increase career prospects by adding a valuable achievement to CVs
Meet like-minded people from the community
Know that they have helped the continued development of a professional service which benefits the entire community.

Strength in numbers Credit Union merger announced for North Cork and Limerick
A move that will see Mallow Credit Union Limited merge with Buttevant & Doneraile Credit Union Limited, Dromcollogher Credit Union Limited and Millstreet Parish Credit Union Limited has been announced.
All four credit unions, which combined have seven branch offices (Buttevant, Doneraile, Dromcollogher, Broadford, Mallow, Ballydaheen, and Millstreet) have been in discussion about the possibility of a coming together over the last year. As talks have progressed, each credit union undertook a strict examination of each other’s finances, governance, procedures and policies, and satisfied themselves as to the strengths and merits of this merger. The coming together of these four credit unions, known as a ‘Transfer of Engagements’ under the transferee, Mallow Credit Union, will result in a stronger and more vibrant credit union with increased membership. Up to the 1990’s Jerry O’Riordan’s was one of a number of grocery shops in the Square in Millstreet. In June 2003 the three houses at the corner of the square which made up the shop and store were to be demolished to make way for the new credit union. Seán Radley was on hand to take photos of the demolition and at the time were published on what was then for a short time, the Millstreet website (millstreet.20m.com).
