Minor All-Star for Darragh
It was wonderful to hear today that Darragh Cashman had been chosen at wing-back in this year’s Electric Ireland Minor Football Team of the Year. It’s a fantastic achievement, but not really unexpected as his performances were great all year, performances that brought a lot of pride to Millstreet people watching them.
Darragh & Luke – All Ireland Minor Champions
All Ireland Minor Football Final 2019
Cork 3-20 Galway 3-14
(after extra time)
Congratlations to Darragh Cashman and Luke Murphy who played superbly yesterday, helping Cork to win their first All-Ireland Minor Football title in nineteen years. Darragh had a fine game from wing back, scoring points either side of half time, while Luke came on after 51 minutes, and held his nerve to score a superb crucial point to draw Cork level when time in the second half was nearly up. Two brilliant lads, they’re the first locals to win a minor since Seanie Barrett won with Cork in 1991.

Best of luck to Darragh and Luke in the All Ireland Minor Football Final
Best of luck to Darragh and Luke in the All Ireland Minor Football Final against Galway on Sunday in Croke Park.
For our Juvenile club, as all can see by the numerous best wishes given to the lads, this is the proudest achievement a club could receive to have two of our players representing our club on the biggest stage of all , on what could be an historical day in the lifetime of the GAA. Whatever about the Dublin/Kerry game, next Sunday it is all about Darragh and Luke for us. We have watched Darragh and Luke grow up into two fine young men and top players for club and county. Star quality was evident from an early age for both lads but quality alone won’t get you to the top. We in the club have witnessed the hard work, the sacrifices made, the injuries incurred, the thousands of miles travelled and the support of both families on their long journey that has now led to this wonderful occasion for us all on Sunday. This day is for Darragh and Luke but also for all the people involved in our club. From the young players who now have their own heroes to look up to and follow their example. From the parents of all the players in our club who have supported our club over the years. From the Coaches of all teams that have given up thousands of hours of their own time to develop our players. From the administrators and club officers of our club who also give up hours and do unseen work in the background. A day like this is what makes it all worthwhile and whatever the result, Darragh and Luke will always be heroes to us. For those who are lucky to have a ticket, make sure your voice is heard in support of our lads and for those that don’t , I am sure you will be glued to the television at 1pm on Sunday and if everything goes to plan then we will have victorious homecoming for the lads when they return home. Darragh and Luke , thank you for letting us share in this special occasion, enjoy your day no one deserves it more than you.
Best of luck, John O Riordan representing all from Duarigle Gaels Football Club & Millstreet Juvenile Hurling Club. And from all your supporters from the Millstreet and Cullen community.

A Busy GAA Weekend
It was a very busy weekend on the GAA front this week, with lots of underage teams playing, as well as Kevin and Mark who were playing for Cork in the Munster Senior Championships. Below are lots of the photos:
U16s Defeat Fermoy in the Championship
Darragh and Brandon in Cork U15 Action
Well done Darragh Cashman, who was #11 for Cork U15A hurlers over the weekend as they won their intercounty tournament in Brinny, beating Limerick, Tipperary, and Galway to take the trophy. Darragh is on both the football and hurling U15 development squads! … And also to his Keale Gaels teammate Brandon Murphy (Dromtarriffe) who was playing with the Cork U15B team in Clare, who beat Kerry, Limerick, and Galway, on their way to also winning their tournament.
