The very best of luck to Michelle Finn who runs for Ireland in Heat 1 of the 3,000m steeplechase this morning at the Tokyo Olympics (1:40am Irish time). An unbelievable amount of hard work and commitment goes into qualifying and competing. We’ll be up late watching it.
Result: 9th in the heat for Michelle in a time of 9:36.26 which she was disappointed with, but it was 37C at trackside with high humidity. Brutal conditions, and a field that was strung out from the start were never contusive to a fast time. We’re all proud of you here.

In view of current Covid restrictions Millstreet AC will not be holding their AGM until restrictions are eased.
Our current Committee will remain in place until our next AGM.
Stay safe.
On June 29th 2020, Corkman Barry Sheehan started the challenge to RUN from Malin Head to Mizen Head….600+ km in one week to raise funds for Cappagh Kids.
He is running the equivalent of two marathons per day and will be passing through Millstreet either tomorrow or Saturday. It will be nice if we could give him a bit of support or even run some of the way with him.
If you are interested you can follow his progress on the Malin2Mizen for Cappagh Kids Facebook page.

Millstreet Athletic Club would like to thank everyone who supported our recent Willie Neenan Memorial 5 Mile Road Race held earlier this summer. The race is getting bigger and better each year.
Thank you for supporting your local athletic club.
Some lovely pictures below thanks to Geraldine.
There was a big crowd for the Willie Neenan Memorial 5 mile Road Race on Friday evening, where 212 runners completed the course. The men’s race was won by International runner Kevin Maunsell of Clonmel in a time of 25:30, while the ladies race was won by Carol Finn (whose mum is from here) in a time of 32:04. Congrats to all who took part, and to those that organised for Millstreet Athletic Club. Below are lots of photos and results from the evening.
