Running a School in Ukraine from Millstreet

Nova Kakhovka in Ukraine, was taken by the Russians on the first day of the invasion. For the first couple of months Professor Igor Serdyuka still did his job as the director of a 500 student school. But in early June the Russian occupiers told him to start teaching the Russian curriculum. When he refused, they threw him in jail. He escaped the war with his wife Tatyana, and they have found refuge in Millstreet, but he still organises teaching the students online.

Sky News visited Millstreet recently and interviewed the couple, which can be watched on SkyNews.com.

Maggie Molloy brought this week’s house hunting couple on Cheap Irish Homes (RTÉ1) to Ballydaly to see a cottage that’s been unused for a few years. Of the houses they were shown, they said it was by far their favourite, for the space provided, and also probably for the price also. You can still see this week’s episode on the RTÉ Player.

Marie on Ireland’s Got Talent

Marie Kelleher got special mention on Ireland’s Got Mór Talent last evening where she sang Hopelessly Devoted to You (Grease, 1978) for the judges. Watch her performance on  Ireland’s Got Mór Talent on the Virgin Media Player (from 18:49 to 20:13) (here)
