St Patricks Day Parade happening in Carriganima on Sunday March 15th at 3pm

The Carriganima St Patricks Day Parade is happening on Sunday March 15th,Kick Off for the Parade is 3pm, Millstreet Pipe Band will lead the way followed by Music in the Pub By The Left Hand Drive Band 4pm to 6pm with the Fantastic UP IN SMOKE on stage between 7pm snd 9pm, as usual all Local Groups Clubs Schools etc are very Welcome to join us for a bit of Fun,we are also doing a smaller Parade for the Kids starting from the Church and we encourage all of our Younger Generation to bring along there Toy Car Bike Go Kart etc and join in on the Fun too, for Details give Sean a Ring on 087 2600640, looking forward to seeing ye all on the Day.

St. Patrick’s Day Mass to be Broadcast on CMS at 1pm Tues. 17th March 2020

While one may be able to view the 11.30 am Mass on Church Television on St. Patrick’s Day 2020 – for those who cannot receive the signal we shall be broadcasting a near live recording available worldwide of the Mass on Cork Music Station at 1pm.   Our transmission which is accessible on Laptop, iPad, Phone and Internet Radio begins at 12.55pm with a wonderful version of the hymn “Hail Glorious St. Patrick”.   Following the celebration of Mass by Canon John Fitzgerald, P.P. – we invite you to 30 minutes of a musical treat with some very rare 78rpm record gems which will include Dan Sullivan’s Shamrock Band, Pat White with “It’s the same old shillelagh”, Martin Beirne & His Irish Blackbirds – to mention but some of the real Irish songs and music from a bygone age.   To tune into our broadcast simply tap on Cork Music Station.  Sincere thanks to the many people who contacted us following Sunday’s broadcast.   A very Happy St. Patrick’s Day to All.   Keep safe.  Tap on the images below to enlarge.  (S.R.)

We ask all participants to gather at 4pm at the Green Glens Arena entrance on Station Road.

Upholding a Wonderful St. Patrick’s Day 2019 Tradition in Millstreet

Blessed with fresh weather conditions on Sunday 17th March 2019 the wonderful morning tradition was upheld of St. Patrick’s Day Mass in St. Patrick’s Church where the Millstreet Pipe Band truly enhances the liturgy especially with the magnificent “Highland Cathedral” with pipes and organ (the repeat of which may be heard this Tuesday at 10pm on “Radio Treasures” on Cork Music Station) and also gives a brief recital in the Church Grounds. The organist with the Millstreet Choir was Jane Daly.  The Celebrant of the Mass was Fr. Billy Radley with Concelebrants Fr. Paddy O’Byrne and Fr. Seán Tucker.  Here we share some 21 images from the very special annual occasion.  The Band took part in the Parade at 5pm for the amazing 67th time.   Present in our group image are two of the Members who have been in the Band since the early 1950s – Tim O’Shea and Liam Coffey.  Click on the pictures to enlarge.  (S.R.) Carriganima St. Patrick’s Parade on Monday 18th March at 3pm

Last year’s Carriganima Parade took place in snowy conditions as illustrated in our 2018 images.  It was Fr. Anthony Wickham who was Grand Marshal of the ever popular Parade.  Shane McCarthy of Carriganima very kindly assisted us in video recording the wonderful event.   This year’s Parade takes place on this Monday at 3pm.  Everyone is very welcome.  As always a mighty atmosphere at The Pub follows where many assemble.  Seán Murphy, Coordinator supereme, will as usual act as MC on the day during which his commentary of the Parade is always both witty, humorous and informative.  And Seán has just informed us that this year’s Grand Marshal will be the very same Fr. A bitter wind blew from Clara
On that historic Millstreet day
The people waited with bated breath
Wasn’t Daniel and Majella on the the way.

At last they came into view
In their handsome touring car
So many fans in downtown Millstreet
They had come from near and far.

Daniel saluted as he passed us by
He had a wave for little Fionn
On a cold Saint Patrick’s day in Millstreet
Daniel brought a welcome ray of sun.

He cheers us with his singing
He lifts us when we’re down
North Cork will never be the same
Since Daniel o’ Donnell was feted
In good old Millstreet town.

Highlights of Wonderful St. Patrick’s Weekend 2018

What an exciting (and chilly) weekend it’s been when Daniel and Majella were accorded a royal welcome by Eily and the people of Millstreet and beyond (images of this we cannot share at the moment but at a later point permission will hopefully be granted)….when Millstreet Pipe Band performed inside and outside the Church…when Carriganima has its very own Snow Parade (!) with Fr. A. Wickham as its Grand Marshal (organizer Seán Murphy is very grateful for such wonderful support on such a cold day)…when Green Glens hosted a spectacular music event with well over 4,000 young people attending.  Here we share a selection of images from this special weekend.   We shall add lots more later. Wonderful St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Carriganima on Sunday

What is always a most enjoyable and colourful  annual Parade in Carriganima this year takes place on Sunday, 18th March at 3pm.  Weather permitting there will be the usual Bouncy Castle, Ice-cream Van, Media etc..  The Grand Marshal will be Fr. Magnificent St. Patrick’s Parade 2017 in Carriganima on Sunday

What a superbly colourful St. Patrick’s Parade was held in Carriganima at 3pm on Sunday, 19th March 2017 blessed with good weather.   Among the attendance were Minister for Agriculture & the Marine – Michael Creed, T.D., Aindrias Moynihan, T.D. and Cllr. John Healy-Rae and Cllr. Breaking News – Eily to be Grand Marshal of Millstreet Parade 2017!

Eily Buckley has been honoured with the highly prestigious role of Grand Marshal in this Friday’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade beginning at 5pm in Millstreet. Sincere congratulations to Eily who so richly deserves this great honour. The tradition of Grand Marshal for our annual Parade is new and we are very grateful to Margaret Bourke for suggesting the establishment of such an important role in the magnificent annual event. Do look out for Eily in a superb truly historic open vintage car at the beginning of the Parade. Eily will then join the many Guests on the Reviewing Stand in The Square.
