Charity Road-Sign Missing

Road-signs for a charity truck event taking place on Sunday 31st October in the Green Glens Arena, were erected around the locality during the week. One of these signs has gone missing! It was placed at the Millstreet Junction by the Sandpit Bar on Tuesday evening and had been removed by 5pm Wednesday. We contacted the County Council and they had not removed the sign. We would appreciate if anyone with information could contact 087 2030518 or better again, if whoever has removed it, would be kind enough to return it. It is after all, a charity event for two sick little girls.

Michelle Runs in the 3000m Steeplechase this morning

The very best of luck to Michelle Finn who runs for Ireland in Heat 1 of the 3,000m steeplechase this morning at the Tokyo Olympics (1:40am Irish time). An unbelievable amount of hard work and commitment goes into qualifying and competing. We’ll be up late watching it.

Result: 9th in the heat for Michelle in a time of  9:36.26 which she was disappointed with, but it was 37C at trackside with high humidity. Brutal conditions, and a field that was strung out from the start were never contusive to a fast time. We’re all proud of you here.

Lotto Plus 2 Winning Ticket Bought in Millstreet

Check your tickets !!! The winning €250,000 top prize for last night’s Lotto Plus 2 draw was purchased in Centra, West End, and hopefully it was someone local that has a lucky win.

The Irish Examiner interviewed assistant manager of the shop, Alan Dunne,  who said “there is a lot of excitement in the store. We have had a few customers in to eagerly check their tickets already and I’m sure there will be a good few more throughout the day too. It’s a lovely amount to win – I don’t think any of us would say no to that! It would be nice if it was someone local who has come into this bit of luck – hopefully they check their ticket soon and realise just how much it’s worth,”

Four Nights debut EP ‘Bed’

Congrats to Tommy Buckley going by name ‘Four Nights‘ who last week release his debut EP ‘Bed’. BreakingTunes says: “It  has all of the hallmarks of 80’s pop, and takes influence from the likes of The 1975, LANY, and Nightly. Big soundscapes, splashy snares and clean vocals are masterfully produced by Diffusion Lab’s Marcin Ciszczon, AKA Emiji.
In February 2020 Tommy set off to travel South East Asia for a year, but was forced to come home only after a month due to the pandemic. Suddenly with a lot of spare time in lockdown, he threw himself completely into music, writing more than 30 songs in a focused two month period.
He released his debut singles (‘Want You Always / Nothing to Say’) in November and quickly gained 100k+ Spotify streams and heavy rotation on national radio. He followed this up with ‘Grow So Cold’ and ‘Not This Time’ which gained placements on the ‘New Pop UK’ and ‘Chilled Pop Hits’ editorial playlists on Spotify. His debut EP ‘Bed’ followed in July.”

Give a listen to the five tracks on the EP at the bottom of this post:

Tommy was also interviewed for the Bellissimo Files on Spin 103. Listen here:
