Millstreet Vintage Club are holding a Tractor Run on next Sunday May 8th Starting and Finishing in Millstreet Town,a Scenic Route is Planned to go in a direction West of the Town,the Run is in Aid of both Millstreet Museum and The Millstreet Website which are two very important Services to both the Millstreet Locality and the Wider Surrounding Area.

Sign On for The Tractor Run will be at the Wallis Arms Hotel Millstreet from 11am with Take Off at 12.30pm,Entry Fee is €20 and all Tractors are very Welcome,There will be a Perpetual Trophy for the Best Vintage Tractor on the day and your Support would be very Welcome,for Details Contact Dan O’Riordan on 087 2452569

Seán Radley Inducted into Irish Broadcasting Hall of Fame

Congratulations to our own Seán Radley who has been inducted into the Irish Broadcasting Hall of Fame, which is in appreciation of the contribution to Irish history and culture in the media. A huge honour, he is named this year among many well known Irish media personalities like Jimmy Magee, Tommy Gorman, Vincent Browne, Sean Ban Breathnach, Terry Wogan, Joe Duffy, Marty Whelan, Tony Fenton, and more.

Selected in the Alternative Section, they mention that: “Seán is the man behind LTV2, the local Millstreet, Co Cork television channel that for many years operated as a pirate TV channel but most recently as an online station. Sean a former National School Teacher is also the curator of the popular Millstreet Museum. LTV2 features a host of local stories and musicians keeping locals informed of events and forthcoming events, a lifeline in a rural community.”

Café-Aroma yesterday, home made soup & brown bread made by Noreen to warm you up on a cold day, and lots more amazing food on offer, deffo a place to visit if your in town!

And Look who I bumped into inside only Seán Radley & Eily Buckley!! Two amazing people with a wealth of knowledge and that do very important work for Millstreet, Duhallow, and beyond! Keeping rural Ireland up to date with past and present going’s on, all for free!

Ireland Involved Awards – Seán Radley Nominated

Our own Seán Radley has been nominated for the 2009 Ireland Involved Awards which take place this evening (Nov 5th 2009)  at a dinner hosted by the Taoiseach’s Office in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham.

Sean has been nominated in the “Arts, Culture & Media” Section for his work documenting community life in Millstreet for the last 40 years. He will be accompanied at the awards ceremony by Mike and Kathy O’Connor who nominated him in the first case.
