Presentation of Awards at Millstreet Pitch & Putt Club

On Thursday, 25th August 2022 a very impressive Awards Ceremony took place at Millstreet Pitch & Putt Club course in Millstreet Town Park.  Many splendid awards were presented while one of the main Awards – the Aidan Burke Memorial Trophy – was won by Oran Kiely, Station Road, Millstreet.   Liam, Gillian and Saoirse Rose representing the Burke Family presented a delighted Oran with the magnificent Trophy.   Denis Kiely (Oran’s father) expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Burke Family and indicated that he had great memories of the late Aidan.  Gillian responded and expressed her sincere thanks that Aidan is remembered annually at this special event.   The Burke Family provided lots of delicious refreshments for all present…and Joan Casey distributed superb home baking.   Shane Browne had arranged the acquiring of the splendid Award Trophies.  Barry Fraser addressed all present expressing thanks to the Committee, the Players and the Parents and indicated how successful the past year had been with lots of new Players.   Here we share some 19 images from the marvellous occasion.   Sincere congratulations to All.   Tap on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.) ECOUNESCO Award Winners Darren, Bevin & Omar

Sincere congratulations to Darren Kiely, Bevin Murphy and Omar Daly (all Students of Millstreet Community School) on recently winning the highly prestigious ECOUNESCO Award for their superb research and presentation of their praiseworthy project.   They won the Senior Eco Innovation Award impressing the Judges with their robust Science and eloquent Presentation.   Special thanks also to Teacher Jennifer O’Donoghue and Principal Pól Ó Síodhcháin for their coordination and encouragement.  The joyous occasion was held in the splendid Convention Centre, Dublin.  Below we picture the Students at both the BTYSTE 2019 in the RDS in January and also having received the highly regarded ECOUNESCO Award in May.  Click on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.) Red Cross National Volunteers Awards

Congratulations to Margaret Crean, Dromsicane on receiving the prestigious award as Runner-up in the Health and Social Care Volunteer of the Year section, in this year’s Red Cross National Volunteer’s Award in Croke Park on the 27th April.

Aubane Social Club and Aubane Historical Society Presented with Recognition Certificates at The Cork Annual Mayor’s Community Awards Ceremony in Cork County Hall on Monday Night

The locality of Aubane featured strongly on Monday Night last at the The Cork County Mayor’s Community Awards Ceremony where John F Kelleher Chairman of Aubane Social Club was presented with a Recognition Certificate for the Aubane Social Club and Aubane Native Jack Lane founder of the Aubane Historical Society was also Presented with a Recognition Certificate by Patrick Gerard Murphy Mayor of County Cork at the Annual Awards Event Ceremony held in the County Hall .
