Paddy Healy

1980s Paddy Healy in Helen & Dave Curtins Bar in the early 80sWith his wife Peg they raised their children at Claramore before moving to Murphy’s Terrace
The quiet man with few words to say
And sad to think that he is with the departed
With the dead of Millstreet he forever lay.

There was so much to like about in Paddy Healy
I knew him before he grew old and gray
He drunk many a pint of frothy dark porter
Without being aggressive or loud in any way.

Pommerit le VicomteTwinning Committee Pays Special Tribute to Doireann O’Sullivan

In Memory of the late Doireann O’Sullivan who was such a wonderfully supportive and dedicated Member of Millstreet Twinning Association we have just received a very special message from Yves Allain on behalf of the Twinning Association of our Twin Town, Pommerit le Vicomte.  We firstly share the exact message as received in French and then we include our translation of the much appreciated message from our great Friends in Brittany:

It is with great emotion that we learned of the death of Doireann O’ Sullivan.
We appreciate and treasure our knowing Doireann for almost 30 years of our twinning relationships POMMERIT / Millstreet.
She was always so very welcoming and available to open her home to Pommeritains.
Co-Chair JOSEPH CROM and all members of the Twinning Committee join me to present our condolences to Doireann’s Family.
Sincerely,
YVES ALLAIN  (Thank you for communicating our sincere sympathy also to Millstreet Twinning Association including  PAT.JOHN.LIAM.ANN.BREEDA.GORDON …. AND OTHERS).
Yves – We thank you for your very kind communication and we also extend our heartfelt sympathy to Doireann’s Family.   A true lady – Doireann was a Friend Supreme to all.   May she rest in peace.   Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.  (S.R.)
