Millstreet Celtic 4 Coachford 0
Report by Tim Kiely: We beat Coachford 4-0 this afternoon to move to the top of the table. We got off to a flyer and were ahead after just 5 minutes. A ball out of defense from Tim Kiely put Tadhg Collins clear on goal and he finished confidently. We kept pressing and forced a number of saves from their keeper through Collins and Chris Cleary. It was Cleary who made it 2-0 after 25 mins. Michael Murphy picked up the ball wide on the right and whipped it across to the waiting Cleary whose first time strike found the corner of the net. We kept up the pressure but went at half time just the 2 up. The second half was a bit more even at the start but [read more …] “Millstreet Celtic 4 Coachford 0”

Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a Cairde and welcome to news report 1057 from Millstreet.
Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this cold but sunny Tuesday morning.
Last Friday night March 26th was a momentous occasion for our Pipe Band. They celebrated their 60th anniversary at the Dromhall Hotel joined by members of our clergy, a large number of the general public as well as all of the band members themselves and their families and relatives. A special screen was set up and there was an ongoing film of all the bands history on show, before and during the meal. The two remaining founder members, Liam Coffee and Tim O Shea, came in for special mention during the speeches. And there was great emphasis on the number of young people who have come forward to join, thus ensuring the future of the band. A special anniversary Plaque was presented to each member and a special presentation was made to the band on behalf of the Community Council. Following the formalities the night was danced away to the lovely music of the popular Kelt.
The 30th anniversary of Medjugori occurs this year .Please contact John O Connell for details of a Pilgrimmage that is going there on September 3rd. His number as always 026 40007.

Regional Report 1056 – 22nd March 2011
by
Eily Buckley
Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to News Report 1056 from Millstreet
Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this beautiful sunny calm Tuesday morning.
Full marks to Seanie Murphy and Matt Neville who organised the highly successful St. Patricks Day Parade in Carriganima on Sunday, and well done to all the people from all walks of life who arrived with a wide variety of artefacts to take part. From live-stock to motorised bicycles, vintage, comic acts ,the list goes on .There was a fine crowd. They were blessed with beautiful weather and the pleasant music of the Threshing Mill Boys echoed off the surrounding hills. This is the sort of thing that we need to lift our people out of the doldrums.
So well done Seanie & Matt.
LTV was there and more details will appear on future programs.
Still with Carriganima on this Friday night there will be an all girls party in the Pub, a sort of Women’s Christmas in March. All girls welcome.
