Cumann Presentation to Cllr. Bernard Moynihan Tonight

A presentation of the book "Brian Lenihan - In Calm and Crisis" was made by Chairperson of the Millstreet Fianna Fáil Cumann, Maria Murphy, to Cllr. It is here at McCarthy's Bar, The Square, Millstreet that monthly Clinics will be held (by kind permission) on the third Monday at 7.30pm.   The first Clinic is on Monday, 17th Nov. while the second one is on Monday, 15th Dec..  Recent Grants directed to Millstreet include €7,500.00 to Millstreet Town Park for Outdoor Fitness Equipment, €1,200.00 to Millstreet Men's Shed for a Polytunnel and €600.00 to Millstreet Tidy Towns. Preparing for “Oíche Chiúin” at Castlemagner Community Centre

Oíche Chiúin, (Silent Night) will be performed in Castlemagner Community Centre on Friday 19th, Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st of December. This is a seasonal recital of traditional and modern Christmas carols featuring both adult and child performers.

Musical Director is Neil Moylan who has been so wonderfully involved also with the recent preparation and launch of the Official CD of Millstreet Community Singers.

Registration for any children interested in taking part in the performance will take place on Sunday 16th November at 3pm until 3:45pm in the Community Centre.

All children from 2nd class upwards are welcome.

Registration for adults will also take place on the same day at 5pm.

Death Notice: Margaret Kelleher, Carriganima

KELLEHER (Curraleigh, Carriganima and late of Ballinatona, Millstreet): On November 8, 2014, peacefully, at Cork University Hospital, in the presence of her loving family, MARGARET (nee O’Riordan), beloved wife of the late Connie and much loved mother of Conor and Marie (Lynch) and adoring grandmother to baby Darragh and mother-in-law to John. Deeply regretted by her loving family, sisters Mary (Murray), Dolores (Goggin) and Frances (McCarthy), brother Jerry, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, good neighbours and friends.

Reposing this Monday evening in St. John The Baptist Church, Carriganima from 6pm to 8pm. Requiem Mass tomorrow, Tuesday, at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Clondrohid Cemetery.

Frank Wishes Success to Millstreet in Quarter Final

Frank Kirke (on right) on a visit to Millstreet at the weekend wishes Michael Cashman (representing Millstreet Football Club Supporter supreme) every success in the Quarter-Final being played in Mallow on Sunday. Frank of course is a native of West End and has been the superb coordinator of such musical groups as the Kirkebride Band in Co. Kildare and has been a splendid member of Millstreet Pipe Band. Footballers through to Munster Semi in two weeks

This evening Millstreet footballers brushed aside the challenge of Clare Champions Naomh Eoin on a scoreline of 3-14 to 0-9. Today has been a day of dreams for Millstreet GAA. The Camogie Minors win a County, followed by the lads moving to the next round of the Munster Junior Football Championship.
