“Where the Road Takes Me” at 7pm this Easter Sunday on C103

We thank Presenter, John Greene for advance information on this Easter Sunday evening’s programme – 4th April 2021 at 7pm on C103.  (S.R.)

Where The Road Takes Me

In the second of a two-part programme on ‘Where the road takes me’ this week, John Greene once again invites you to join him on a virtual ‘here , there & everywhere’ tour of Mid Cork.

Rosaleen Tonson-Rye tells us how her parents rebuilt their home near Crookstown, after the stately version had been burned in 1921.

Now retired as a trainer himself, Jimmy Gordon tells us how he learned the ropes, or reins of his trade working for legendary horse trainer Vincent O’Brien at Churchtown.

We hear how Noel lenihan, against advice, restored a children’s burial ground between Liscarrol and Buttevant.

There’s tributes paid to deceased former contributors of the programme – Hubie Hurley of Farnanes and Johnny O’Mahony of Ballydesmond. [read more …] ““Where the Road Takes Me” at 7pm this Easter Sunday on C103″
