Millstreet Bridge Club Expresses Sincere Thanks for Amenity Grant

Breeda O’Keeffe, President of Millstreet Bridge Club (pictured standing on extreme right) this Monday evening expressed sincere thanks especially to Cllr. Bernard Moynihan (pictured) for Millstreet Bridge Club recently being presented with a €700.00 Grant from Cork Co. Council Amenity Funding.  To bring to reality the Electronic Bridge Scoring System the Club has spent €2,100.00.  Here we share two images from this evening’s meeting at Millstreet Day Care Centre.  Click on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)

Millstreet Adult Learning Centre Reopens after the Summer

Millstreet Adult Learning Centre is now reopened after the Summer Break. Classes for the coming term September – December include:

  • Digital Media (developing skills in Social Media eg: Facebook, Twitter, Digital Cameras etc.),
  • Personal Decision Making,
  • Driver Theory Course,
  • General Learning (One to one and small group tuition
    available for adults who would like to build confidence with reading,
    writing, spelling and maths skills needed for work and everyday life)
  • Computer Courses (beginners to advanced classes),
  • English Language (speaking and writing in good English),
  • Arts and Crafts and Singing.

An Open Day will be held on Thursday 6th September from 10.30 am to 1.30pm in the Adult Learning Centre, Main Street (2 doors up from Aisling gift shop). Tutors will be on site to take registrations, give details about course contents and starting dates and times. If you cannot attend for registration but would like to attend classes, you can contact Marie on 086 7707301 Mondays and Thursdays only. All classes are free to over 18’s on a Social Welfare Benefit.

Back by popular demand following the success of last year’s super night of dance, music and entertainment, Cullen Pipe Band are hosting a great night of entertainment on Culture night Friday 21 September in Cullen Hall.
Honoured to have, fresh from the World Championships in Glasgow, performances from Cullen Pipe Band Pipers and Drummers.
Singing, Dancing, Music and Story Telling performances from the All Ireland Comhaltas Championships in Drogheda and All Ireland Scór Championships in Sligo plus Munster and County Scór Championships performances will take place.
The local choir from the Community Games All Ireland in Limerick University will also perform on the night.
8p.m. SHARP or arrive earlier to let the students young and old try out the Pipes and the Drums on the night. TEA/COFFEE refreshments.
