Millstreet Community Council would like to thank everyone who participated & helped to make Culture Night such a success. A special word of thanks to Billy & Staff of the Wallis Arms Hotel & to Fidelis & Bernie Duggan for welcoming us into their premises. Finally, a word of thanks to the public for their overwhelming support & enthusiasm, it was greatly appreciated.

Vintage Display at Culture Night on next Friday Night Sept 20th

Millstreet Vintage Club are delighted to be associated with the Culture Night in Millstreet which will be held on this coming Friday Sept 20th,the Vintage Club will put on a Display of Vintage Equipment Cars Tractors etc for the Evening and there are plenty Exhibits and Activities planned around the Town as well for the Culture Night itself,do support this Event and its all for Free.

 

Entertainment from 9pm on Culture Night Sept 20th

Following the Exhibitions in the E Centre & the Entertainment in the Wallis Arms Hotel at 7pm, the ‘ceol agus craic’ will continue in Millstreet … From 9pm there will be a Trad session in McCarthy’s Bar, Board Games in The Clara Inn, Bingo in the Bush Bar, music by Timmy Connors at The Bridge Bar & the 1973 All Ireland Football Final will be shown in Corkery’s Bar at 9.30pm. There is something for everyone to enjoy on Friday night.

 

Cullen Culture Night

Uplifting evening of traditional music, singing, stories and dancing from the abundance of locals who performed so successfully in the recent Fleadh Cheoil events.   Try your hand at playing drums or pipes courtesy of Cullen Pipe Band members fresh from the World Championships (7-8pm).    All welcome between 8 and 10.30pm at Cullen Community Centre on Friday 20th September 2019 for the concert, a cup of tea and lots of craic.

 

Culture Night in Millstreet

Entertainment in the Wallis Arms Hotel at 7pm will include the Under 12 Ladies Set Dancers who came second in Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann 2019, Empire Acrobatic Rock ‘n Roll, including teens from Millstreet & the USA Champions from June 2019, music by Comhaltas, Millstreet Convent School Choir, Drishane Castle Choir, Aubane ‘Straw Boys’ Set Dancers plus many more guests.  Come along & enjoy the evening.

Millstreet Culture Night September 20th 2019

Culture Night will be celebrated in Ireland on Friday September 20th. In Millstreet, the Museum will be open to the public from 6pm to 7pm. The Vintage Club will be present in the Square, exhibitions of photos, arts & crafts will be on display in the E Centre from 6pm & there will be a free night of entertainment in the Wallis Arms Hotel at 7pm. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

As part of an all-island celebration of arts, heritage and culture, Culture Night 2019 will take place on Friday September 20th in the Square in Millstreet. Culture Night 2019

Millstreet Community Council is inviting representatives of Pubs, Clubs, Groups, Organisations, Businesses & Individuals interested in participating in Culture Night on Friday September 20th (the Annual All of Ireland celebration of culture, creativity and the arts) to a meeting in the Wallis Arms Hotel on Wednesday June 26th at 8pm.  Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Culture Night at the Glen Theatre

The Glen Theatre Banteer welcomes everyone to an informal night of entertainment to celebrate Culture Night.   Join us for Drama – Pub Theatre style, story telling, music and song along with a special performance by Deirdre Linehan Toastmasters winner for Ireland and Britain.   Please come along and join in the fun at 8.30pm this evening Friday 21st September.

Culture Night in Cullen

Where in Ireland can you be entertained under the one roof by performers fresh from competing in the World Piping Championships in Glasgow, the All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil in Drogheda and the All Ireland Community Games Choir in the University of Limerick?

It’s all happening in Cullen Community Centre this week Friday night Culture night 21st Sep. 2018 8.00p.m. and it’s free admission.

There will be World Class performances from Cullen Pipe Band plus All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil, All Ireland Scór and All Ireland Community Games Choir winners.  Performers hail from Cullen GAA Scór, Kanturk GAA Scór, Millstreet GAA Scór all ó Barony Duhallow, Millstreet Comhaltas, Freemount Comhaltas Crossfields Ceilí band, Boherbue All Ireland Ceilí Dancers, Newmarket among others including the very talented Casadh Ó Thuaidh group and Cullen Music Group. Arrive early at 7.30p.m. to try out the Pipes and Drums.  See you there.

On this Friday night, September 21st, there will be a recital by Millstreet
Pipe Band in the Square at 7pm followed by an outdoor show by Empire
Acrobatic Rock’n Roll Dance School & songs from Drishane Castle Choir. The
Vintage Club will also be present with a ‘Vintage Display’

The E Centre in the Square, will be the location for the Cork Photographic
Exhibition, Millstreet Knitting Club, an Art Exhibition by Bertie Buckley &
Ini from Love & Care for People will also be present. The winners of the
Colouring Competition will also be announced & their work will be on
display.

Please support this fun free night of entertainment.

In addition to these superb activities we also have a special Millstreet  Museum Opening from 5.45pm until 7.00pm with an illustrated talk at 6.15pm.   And at Millstreet Day Care Centre in Clara Road Millstreet Gramophone Circle meets at 8.15pm where over twenty songs and music are shared by the Presenter.   Everyone is most welcome to all activities.   Admission is of course free on this 2018 Culture Night in Millstreet.  (S.R.)

We encourage you to pick up the Official Brochure for Culture Night 2018 for Cork City and County.   These are available at Millstreet Library, Millstreet Museum and other local outlets.  We have three entries in the brochure for Millstreet.   Here we feature the first entry (followed over coming days by the two further entries)  Marie Twomey (of Millstreet Pipe Band) has been doing much work organizing the local events for Culture Night.   This is the first time we have been so actively involved in this area for the National Culture Night on Fri. 21st Sept. 2018.  (S.R.)

Cultúr á Scaipeadh

Back by popular demand following the success of last year’s super night of dance, music and entertainment, Cullen Pipe Band are hosting a great night of entertainment on Culture night Friday 21 September in Cullen Hall.
Honoured to have, fresh from the World Championships in Glasgow, performances from Cullen Pipe Band Pipers and Drummers.
Singing, Dancing, Music and Story Telling performances from the All Ireland Comhaltas Championships in Drogheda and All Ireland Scór Championships in Sligo plus Munster and County Scór Championships performances will take place.
The local choir from the Community Games All Ireland in Limerick University will also perform on the night.
8p.m. SHARP or arrive earlier to let the students young and old try out the Pipes and the Drums on the night. TEA/COFFEE refreshments.
