Missing Golden Retriever Dog Sought….Found Safe & Sound!

One year old golden retriever missing in the Millstreet area. He’s white in colour and wearing a blue collar. If anyone sees this dog, please contact (087) 9488889 immediately. He is not familiar with the area. Thanks.  And we’re delighted to be informed that the very fine pet dog has been found safe and sound and had been given reassuring care while missing.    A very happy outcome…and that famous lost-found prayer may well have had a part in the overall happening!

Magnificent Pádraig Pearse Plaque Now in Place for Official Launch

Sincere thanks to Photographer supreme, Justin Black for capturing the putting in place this morning by the three superb Craftsmen of the hugely impressive Pádraig Pearse plaque at Corkery's Bar, West End, Millstreet which will be officially launch tomorrow night at 7.30 (22nd August 2015). Many thanks also to Jerry Lehane for alerting us to the placement of this all-important permanent reminder of Pádraig Pearse's visit to Millstreet on 22nd August 1915. Click on the images to enlarge. Death Notice: Denny Hickey, Gortnacreha, Cullen

The death has occurred of Denis. (Denny) HICKEY, Gortnacreha, Cullen, Cork. Late of Birmingham, UK. At his daughter’s residence, in the presence of his loving family. Son of the late Con and Mollie (nee Scully) and brother to the late Thade. Beloved dad to Maria, father-in-law to Simon and loving grandad to Daniel, Nathan and Joshua. Deeply regretted by his extended family Darren and Kayleigh. Sadly missed by his sisters Maureen (Phibbs, Blessington) and Catherine (Casey, Killeens) his brothers Tom and Connie, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins, work colleagues and many friends.
Reposing at Tarrant’s Funeral Home Millstreet on Saturday from 6.00pm. Removal to Cullen Church at 8.00pm. Requiem Mass Sunday at 10.15am and burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery. May he rest in peace.
