Summer Filmmaking Camp for Teens taking place in Macroom

Join in the filmmaking fun with a week-long #Macroom filmmaking camp this summer! 📽️ Cork Young Filmmakers’ popular Summer Filmmaking Workshops for 14 – 18 year olds will take place from July 17 – 21 🔗

These hands-on camps are made possible with support from Cork County Council , SECAD Partnership CLG – SECAD, Cork Education and Training Board , CreativeIrl and Cork Film Centre and cost just €75 per young person for the full week. Each workshop will cover scriptwriting, camera work, lighting, directing, and an introduction to editing.
At the end of the workshop, each participant will have experience with every role on the team and together will have produced a short film as a film crew.

Bike Week 2023 – Millstreet Library

Cork Bike Week 2023 will take place from Saturday 13th to Sunday 21st May 2023 and is a celebration of all things cycling.

This year we are running a ‘Tour de Cork’ design a t-shirt competition for children.

Sponsored by Cork Sports Partnership each of the winning designs will be printed on a t-shirt, and the t-shirt presented to the winning designer. There will be also be spot prizes for the runners up.

The age categories are ages 5-8 and ages 9-12 and the closing date for entries is Friday the 26th of May.

Entry Forms are also available in the library.

Successful Trip to Lourdes as part of Group 126

The two 5th year students from Millstreet Community School Holly Dunne and Rachel Dineen had a successful trip to Lourdes as part of Group 126 at Easter as helpers with the Irish Pilgrimage Trust.

They have engaged in fundraising activities and with the help of their families and the rest of the Millstreet community and have raised an incredible total of €4147.
