Hi Everyone,
We are Spinning for 12 hours to raise funds to travel to Equador with VESA this summer to refurbish schools and teach English to the Naporuna Quichu and indigenous Amazon people whose livelihoods are threatened through, mining, deforestation and polution.

Woodland Habitat Study

2015-03-24 Our Tidy Towns and Community School have started a Woodland Habitat StudyYesterday afternoon the Transition Year students of Millstreet Community School started a woodland habitat study in the woodland at the back of the Community school.
The Millstreet Tidy Town Association have organised in conjunction with Mr. Derry Morley, for a Wildlife Biologist, Mr. Tony Keneally to come and facilitate this study to be done. This will be happening for the next 3 to 5 weeks with the Transition Year Students.
Their work will involve mapping the woodland habitat and ecological experiments and activities. Their aim is to map and setup a management plan for the woodland area. The best plan will be presented to Millstreet Tidy Town committee for submission with this year’s entry. We wish them luck.

Millstreet girls in Munster Camogie U16 Finals

2015-03-22 Cork U16B Camogie team - Munster Champions - includes Clare O'KeeffeMillstreet Camogie Club would like to congratulate Clare O’keeffe & the Cork U16B team on a fantastic Munster Final win at the weekend v Limerick! Well done Clare! Great to see you on the scoreboard too!

Also, commiserations to Chloé Collins who played a Munster Final with the Cork U16A team at the weekend & were narrowly defeated by Clare (photo & match report). Best of luck for the rest of the season girls!

Prestigious “Best Community Awareness Project” Award for Cloghoula N.S.

Sincere congratulations to the Senior Pupils of Cloghoula N.S. and to their Teacher, Ms. Joanne Murphy on having won the "Best Community Awareness Project" Award in the recent "Discover Cork Schools Heritage Project 2015".  They were presented with the wonderfully prestigious Award fpr their marvellously impressive Project by Cllr. Kieran McCarthy on Friday, 13th March 2015 in the Silversprings Hotel, Cork. It was indeed an honour to have been associated with the very interesting Project in the research stage of the overall uplifting endevour.   Pictured at Clogho
