Death Notice: William Gleeson, Clara Road

The death has occurred on Sunday 2nd April 2017 of William Gleeson, Clara Road, Millstreet. In the presence of his loving family at CUH, brother of the late John Joe, Richie, Timmy, Michael, Gilly and Teresa. Sadly missed by his beloved wife Mary (née Poff), sons Micheál, Seán and Liam, sisters Mary, Nellie and Sr. Anne, daughters in law Joan and Paula, grandchildren Siobhán, Sineád and Rian, brother in law Peter, niece’s, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing in Tarrant’s funeral home Millstreet on Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm followed by removal to St Patrick’s Church, Millstreet. Requiem Mass on Thursday at 12 noon and burial afterwards to St Mary’s Cemetery.

Superb Danielle Competes in Shot Putt All-Ireland at Athlone

Recently Danielle O’Riordan from Dromsicane, Millstreet competed in Nenagh at the Munster Juveniles Indoors Competition . She came a brilliant second in the Under 12 Girls Shot Putt. This was her first time competing in the Shot Putt and to bring home a Silver Munster Medal was a fantastic achievement . She travelled to Athlone yesterday to compete in the All-Ireland where Danielle is now rated amongst the top eleven in Ireland.  Sincere congratulations on such a magnificent achievement and for being such a superb Sporting Ambassador for Millstreet at a hugely prestigious All-Ireland event in the heart of Ireland – Athlone. Danielle’s Mum – Eileen, of course, has won a hugely impressive amount of All-Ireland Sporting Awards over the years. Wonderfully Successful Quiz for Millstreet Hospital

Fianna Fáil Cumann organised its annual Quiz at McCarthy’s Bar on Friday night. It was a splendid success and realised a most impressive €1,223.00 for St. Joseph’s Community Hospital, Millstreet. Here we share our first selection of images from the very enjoyable at which Noreen Meade was the truly excellent MC while John O’Leary and Cllr. Bernard Moynihan as well as Deputy Michael Moynihan, T.D. coordinated the event most efficiently. Cork Rose Denise Collins and her Mum who attended representing Millstreet Hospital addressed the large gathering to express sincere thanks for this hugely appreciated annual gesture.  Click on the pictures to enlarge.  (S.R.)
