“Donald Phelps” – A Favourite in Superbly Successful Millstreet G.A.A. Fundraising Duck Race at Clara Road this Monday Evening!

Checking the results in the superbly successful Millstreet G.A.A. fundraising Duck Race held this Monday evening, 6th August 2012 at Clara Road.    The winning Ducks were owned by:  Mary Cashman, Tullig (1st);  Claire Downey (2nd);  Donal Corcoran (3rd).   The best named Duck “Donald Phelps” was suggested by Margaret O’Sullivan, Rathcoole.   It certainly was a quacking event!  (S.R.)

Over 50s Active Retired Association Trip to Bunratty

Some of the enthusiastic members of the Over 50s Active Retired Association on their most enjoyable trip to Limerick and Bunratty Folk Park and Castle on Wednesday, 1st August 2012. “CarrigFest” This Weekend at The Pub in Carriganima

Coinciding with the exciting International Horse Show Weekend a wonderful weekend of great music will take place at the Pub in Carriganima – with some of the entertainment taking place outdoors weather permitting.

A Mighty Atmosphere Assured!

‘Trad for Trocaire’ at Millstreet Community School Library

Next October, students from all year groups, as well as pupils from the national schools will be invited to sing, dance and play traditional music, at the same time as raising funds for Trócaire’s work amongst the poorest of the poor.

On that day the school will be welcoming four visitors from Belgium (two teachers and two lecturers in education). They will be here as part of the European Union funded project called MDG ‘15 that Mr. John Magee (Chaplain, Millstreet Community School) went to India as part of in November 2011. MDG ’15 focuses on the Millennium Development Goals, in particular MDG 7 ‘Ensure Environmental Sustainability’ and MDG 8 ‘Develop a Global partnership for Development’, and the efforts being made to raise awareness about them through schools in UK, Ireland, Belgium, Poland, Senegal, Czech Republic, France and India by development agencies in each country, such as Trócaire in Ireland, and [read more …] “‘Trad for Trocaire’ at Millstreet Community School Library”
