Inspiring All-Ireland Walk in Aid of Mourne Mountains Rescue Service Stephen (centre) from Co. Down accompanied for part of the journey by the two Johns is pictured on Sat. 30th May 2015 at Conrad Jones’s (sitting by unique fire setting) exquisite Pod accommodation centre in Mushera as he overstays on a few nights during his truly epic journey from Dursey Island in West Cork following the O’Sullivan Beara-Breifne Walkway and far beyond to arrive back in his native Co. Down. The fund-raising project in aid of the Mourne Mountains Rescue Service to which he is inspiringly dedicated, will take some five weeks to complete. LTV2 recorded a brief interview with Stephen for later transmission. We wish Steven and his wife (who provides backup transport when necessary) every success on the journey and in achieving the fundraising target. It’s a very challenging adventure but the wonderfully cheerful Stephen recognises its many benefits and is also seeing Ireland in a splendid manner and tuning into the various accents! Many thanks to Conrad and his wife for alerting us to this superbly uplifting project. Click on the images to enlarge. (S.R.) The Co. Down Group was hugely impressed by the beauty of the Mushera/Aubane/Millstreet area and by the warm welcome which they have been receiving.
