Wonderfully Generous Response to LTV2 Millstreet Annual Collection

This weekend's annual church gate collection for LTV2 Millstreet resulted in a wonderfully generous response. Combining the Millstreet/Ballydaly/Cullen collections on this Sat./Sun. 30th/31st May 2015 the uplifting total was €1,838.00. We extend sincere thanks to everyone who contributed so generously and to our dedicated collectors. We bring your attention to our most recent online LTV2 Programme No. 258 in which we share some very interesting sequences including an exclusive interview with Donncha Ó Dúlaing, P.J. Murrihy, Annmarie O’Riordan and Nora Reidy – all recorded in Killarney.   Steam Train in Millstreet recently has also received lots of views.  We thank John Tarrant for his appreciated mention on “Corkman”.  John’s brilliant picture on a recent tweet (29th May) relating to the Boherbue/Cullen football match on Friday night in the Town Park is hugely impressive and worthy of “The Picture of the Year” award!  I had the privilege of being beside John when he captured it from the sideline. And thanks to Eily Buckley for mentioning Collection on her weekly report.  Click on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)

Inspiring All-Ireland Walk in Aid of Mourne Mountains Rescue Service

Stephen (centre) from Co. Down accompanied for part of the journey by the two Johns is pictured at Conrad Jones's (sitting by unique fire setting) exquisite Pod accommodation centre in Mushera as he overstays on a few nights during his truly epic journey from Dursey Island in West Cork following the O'Sullivan Beara-Breifni Walkway and far beyond to arrive back in his native Co. Down. The fund-raising project in aid of the Mourne Mountains Rescue Service to which he is inspiringly dedicated, will take some five weeks to complete. LTV2 recorded a brief interview with Stephen for later transmission. We wish Steven and his wife (who provides backup transport when necessary). It's a very challenging adventure but the wonderfully cheerful Stephen recognises its many benefits and is also seeing Ireland in a splendid manner and tuning into the various accents. Many thanks to Conrad and his wife for alerting us to this superbly uplifting project. Click on the images to enlarge. (S.R.)
