Town Park Flower Power

Following on Hannelie’s recent uplifting feature on Millstreet Town Park we are preparing a series of pictures illustrating the magnificent amenity it truly is and we also focus on the dedicated team who continually maintain and develop the superb gem we have in Millstreet Town.   Here we focus on the excellent work of FÁS who on this very Monday morning added a further flower-bed feature further enhancing this hugely popular location. Hurlers crash out

Freemount 3-9 Millstreet 1-11

Millstreet crashed out of the Duhallow Junior Hurling Championship tonight after as Freemount came from behind in the second half to battle into the next round.

The game started well for Millstreet with two unanswered points in the first five minutes, but they were quickly wiped out when a long ball into the Millstreet square saw the defenders and goalie hesitate for a second as the Freemount forward raced in and stuck away a simple goal. Sr. Christina

Sr. Christina O’Sullivan was born in Brosna Co.Kerry eighty two years ago. She entered the Presentation Congregation in the Noritiate, Oakpark Tralee. After her Profession, she was assigned to Millstreet Community until her death on 7th May 2005. She belonged a family of fourteen and had a sister (Sr.James) who predeceased her in Presentation Convent Killarney.

Sr. Christina was a woman of great faith, courage and was deeply spiritual. Her special devotion was the Rosary and she visited Tubrid Well almost daily. She loved people, and the people of Millstreet and surrounding areas loved her in return, which was shown by the crowds young and old who were present at her removal and funeral mass.
