On Friday, 7th June 2019 a wonderfully successful fundraising Quiz was held at McCarthy’s Bar, Millstreet. Special thanks to Joanne & Staff for creating such a welcoming atmosphere for all attending the very enjoyable Quiz superbly devised by Question Master supreme – Liam Flynn – assisted by Kathleen Flynn. Here we share not only images from the Quiz but also pictures which Luke’s father, Billy, has made available showing some of the awards already won by the splendidly talented Fisherman – Luke O’Donoghue. There was tremendous support for the event and Thomas Galvin was especially praised for his promotional work. One of our images below just illustrates the large number of prizes presented for the Draw.

All roads lead to McCarthy’s Bar this Friday night, 13th Nov. 2015 at 9pm where the popular Keane sisters, Anne and Ruben, will launch their superb CD. Well known for their sweet harmony and relaxing airs, this CD will make the ideal Christmas Gift. Many of their friends from the music circles will attend on Friday night – so please be there for a pleasant and enjoyable event. We thank Eily & Anne for the reminder of this special event. (S.R.)
O’CALLAGHAN (The Square, Millstreet): On October 15, 2015, peacefully, TEDDY, beloved husband of the late Marion (McCarthy). Sadly missed by his loving daughters Eileen Aherne and Gráinne Crowley, brother Con, sisters Margaret and Eileen, sons-in-law, John and Flor and grandchildren.
Reposing in St Patrick’s Church, Millstreet, on this Friday evening from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Requiem Mass tomorrow, Saturday, at 10.30am. Burial afterwards to St Mary’s Cemetery.
A sincere thanks to everyone who attended the table quiz in McCarthy’s bar last Friday night. The total amount raised for the Union Hall lifeboat was €1,035.00 which was fantastic & is very much appreciated.
