Death Notice: John F O’Connell, Canada & Lyrevocane

The death has occurred on Saturday 23rd December 2017 of John F O’Connell, Milton, Toronto, Canada & late of Lyrevocane, Cullen. Peacefully surrounded by his Family in the excellent care of the staff at Allendale Nursing Home, beloved husband of Bridie and loving father of David and Sean. Predeceased by his sister Eileen, brother Timothy and his parents Tim and Monica. Deeply regretted by his wife, sons, brother Joe, sister Winiferd, daughter-in-law Athena, Laura and grandchildren Ethan, Aidan and Eimly, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

A Windy Evening in Store

laStorm Eleanor will be passing over Ireland today, and it looks like we’re in the firing line again, thought probably not too bad this time, with gusts of over 100km/hr forecast for Millstreet in the afternoon.

Weather wise it was a strange new years day, with lovely sunshine in the morning, broken by fierce showers of hail. We had the brightest moon of the year (the ‘wolf super-moon’) early after dark, and then unusually the clouds all lined up  in parallel lines (what appear like roll clouds), a noted effect of an approaching storm 🌬️😨 [read more …] “A Windy Evening in Store”
