Shivering New Year’s Day in the River Blackwater, the traditional Millstreet swim, this year in support of Irish Guide Dogs. Congrats to all involved.
Unfortunately, the river was in flood today so this was as far in as they could go.

Presentation of Superb Boeing Swim 2016 Cheque to Aid Cancer Treatment
We thank Noreen McSweeney, Rathcoole for the four splendid pictures of the presentation at McCarthy’s Bar, The Square, Millstreet of the Boeing Swim 2016 Cheque to “Aid Cancer Treatment”. A hugely impressive cheque for an amazing €4,100.00 plus an extra €40.00 from ticket sales of a much sought after Sports Jersey won by Helena Cooney. There was a truly wonderful atmosphere at the Boeing Swim this year despite the rainy conditions and a fast moving Blackwater. Health and safety was strictly adhered to regarding the Swim with only very limited access to the water permitted.
