Aubane Centenary – Thank You

The Aubane Social Club / Centenary Committee would like to thank everybody who either helped or joined us on the centenary weekend to make it what it was. The cost of the book is 5 euro or for those living abroad it would be 8 euro p&p and the DVD is 10 euro or 15 euro p&p for those living abroad.”

TRUANCY win Battle of the Bands


At Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Cavan last week, the band Truancy won the  first ever ‘Trad for Trocaire’ Battle of the Bands (Friday 17th August). They also headlined on the Gig Rig in Cavan that night. Two of the band members are from Millstreet: Donal Linehan who plays the accordion and Cian Dennehy who plays Guitar and vocals. Calling All Kellehers…Wallis Arms Hotel Meeting on Friday, 24th August

The following request from Rosaleen Underwood:
The Shannon-Kelleher group are descended from Catherine Kelleher (believed to have been born ca1818, daughter of Patrick Kelleher and Mary Kane or Keane), and her first husband, Martin Shannon of Dublin. She is thought to have come from the Ballydesmond / Boherbue / Millstreet area, and the family may have originally come from Kerry.
 
The 12 Australians comprising the Shannon-Kelleher group will be in Millstreet on Friday, 24th August and are hosting a get-together for any Kellehers in the area in the hope that they will meet some relations or anyone who can tell them more about the Kellehers. This will be in the Wallis Arms in Millstreet at 10.30am.
