Millstreet Parish Mission 2012 Begins
Millstreet Parish Mission begins on Saturday, 27th Oct. 2012 – Fr. Brian Nolan CSSR & Fr. Dan Baragry CSSR who are giving the Mission – here welcomed by Nora O’Keeffe, Cullen. All three are natives of Co. Limerick. (S.R.)Remembering Missions of bygone days – from Millstreet Museum Archives through the kindness of Dermot Kiely, Cullen. As in the present Parish Mission it was also the Redemptorist Fathers who gave the Mission in 1934 and in 1955. (S.R.)

I remember the mission of 1955 in Cullen Church,it was packed to capacity for every service.Rousing “fire and brimstone sermons”every night.I remember one priest shouoting to the congregation”Do you renounce Satan and all his works”I do,I do was the response given by every person present.These priests were outstanding.I remember the stalls outside the Church where religious goods wer on sale.Yes these Redemporist Fathers did make a huge impression.
