Thought for the week ahead

Christianity is not merely belief.

It is the practice of that belief by active charity. (Frank Duff)Saturday 21st November celebrates the feast day for the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and celebrates when Mary was asked to be the mother of the Jesus. Her response, “Let it be done to me,” was a great act of faith as she placed her whole self at the service of God.

This weekend we say a special prayer for mothers everywhere and ask the Blessed Virgin Mary to protect them and guide them in these challenging times.

As a mark of respect to the sisters of the Presentation Order a wreath was laid in the Presentation Cemetery by the Girls National School and the Community School in recognition of the service the sisters have given to our Parish.

INSTALLATION OF LIVE STREAMING IN MILLSTREET CHURCH

Dear Parishioners,

As we are still unsure about the attendance at Masses in the foreseeable future our Parish Finance Council have decided that the Parish will install live-streaming in Millstreet Church during the next few weeks using the services of Church Services Ireland.  This will allow our local community and those living away from the Parish around the world to make a connection with home in these uncertain times.

This is a major investment by the Parish and the cost is outlined hereunder:

The cost to purchase equipment and installation:  €4,566.00, thereafter there will be a yearly cost of €1,320.00 covering service and maintenance to the system.

Households that have our local Church TV will not be affected by our new service and you will continue to view Masses as you have always done.

I want to take this opportunity to publicly thank Seán Radley for the time he has given in providing an invaluable service to all of us since last March by broadcasting our daily, weekend and funeral Masses on www.corkmusicstation.com.  This has been very much appreciated Seán.

PARISH OFFICE:  Our Parish Office continues to work behind closed doors as per current guidelines.  Parishioners who wish to book masses, require Mass Cards or have any other query to please ring the office and arrangements for collection or posting will be made.  Parishioners can continue to drop Parish dues and weekly envelopes into the post box at the Parish Office.
