on Friday 24th January at 8.30 with special guest Michael Dennehy of County Sound.

“Voice of the Glen” is the February tune
The Glen Theatre are staging the “Voice of the Glen” singing competition in Feb /Mar 2014.The competition which is kindly sponsored by main sponsors O Keeffe Enterprises ,Electrical and Renewable Energy Installations Banteer and other sponsors Twohigs Supervalu will involve over 50 singers from Cork City and County and outside. A cash prize of €1000 is available to the winner and €500 to the nominator.All Contestants must be 18 years and over to enter the competition. The Voice of the Glen is an open, individual competition. The draw for the first round heats will take place on the launch night in the Glen Theatre on Fri. next Jan. 24th at 8:30pm.
Michael Dennehy County Sound will do the launch. All contestants, nominators and friends are welcome. Light refreshments will be provided.
On competition night each contestant must sing 2 songs per round. In the event of qualification to further rounds, at least 1 new song must be sung in each subsequent round
The 6 first round heats are schedule for Feb. 1st, 9th, 15th, 16th, 21st or 22nd and 23rd.
The 3 semi-finals will be held at later dates to be confirmed with the final at the end March /early April.
Two contestants will be selected for qualification at each round by the judging panel, with 1 additional contestant qualifying by audience vote. The exception to this will be the final, where winners and runners-up will be decided by adjudicators only.
