Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this cold and very calm Tuesday morning, with the little birds still begging for food outside the kitchen window and it has just started to snow.

Re Community Council Awards. Special Award will be presented to the Sisters of the Divine Jesus(Drishane Nuns) in recognition of the great work that they have done over the years both in Ireland in many countries abroad. Sponson Noel C Duggan & Family.

Our heartiest congratulations go out this week to our brilliant Scór na nÓg, Instrumental Music team who won the All-Ireland Final in Athlone on Saturday night. Boherbue coming joint first in set-dancing and 2nd in the Question time. A grand home-coming reception was laid on for them in the town on Monday night, finishing up at the GAA Hall where many tributes were paid to them, and to all concerned to them.

Duhallow finals of Scór na Paistí will be held at the Edel Quinn Hall this Sunday.

In Scór Sinsear, Millstreet Quiz Team won the County Final at Ovens, And their Novelty Act 2nd. Details on our Website.

In GAA Millstreet defeated Kanturk in the Ducon Cup. And coming up to-morrow Wednesday night Millstreet V Boherbue in the Ducon Cup at 8pm.

The list of recipients for this years Community Awards was finalised at a special meeting which was held at the Wallis Arms Hotel  last week. And they are as follows.  Hall of Fame, Fr. PaddyO Byrne, Service to Youth, Youth Club Leaders. Cultural Award James Linehan. Achievement Award, Stephen O Riordan, Service to the Community, Eily Buckley, and Unsung Hero, Moira o’Keeffe, Cullen.

And the Sponsors are K & L Transport, Super Valu, Supermarket, Michael O’Sullivan Electrical, Dennehy Haulage, Alps Electric, and Millstreet Credit Union.

The Awards Social Will be held at the Wallis Arms Hotel on Friday March 12th. Tickets will be on sale in the near future.

A two-fold meeting of the Community Council will be held at the Wallis Arms Hotel to-night. One starting at 8.30 to arrange the Awards Social and the second starting at 9 to plan this years St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Millstreet Country Park re-opening St Patrick’s Weekend.

A meeting of Juvenile GAA, from 7-8 at the GAA Hall to-morrow Wednesday Night for the Annual Gear-fitting.

Knitting Club Thursday night 7 to9.

Coffee Morning in aid of Our Church Restoration, Baby Jacob and Haiti, at the GAA Hall Friday next from 9am–2pm arranged by Patricia Guerin. Please support it well.

AGM of Ballydaly Hall tonight at 8.30.

Well done to the people of Meelin who raised €4,500 for the Baby Jacob Fund.

The AGM of the lotto committee will be held at the Wallis Arms Hotel on Friday night, starting at 7.30 sharp. February 26th.

The new bus Eireann time-table which comes on stream on February 28th poses no threat to our daily service through Millstreet, and  the service will take in Clondrohid in future.

The only change worth noting is that the Bus which normally left   Cork  at 5.30 pm will leave at 6.30pm when the new seasons format comes on stream. A full list of all bus times will be posted on all bus=stops by February 28h.

Sixty five people weighed-In in Cullen last night and 82 pounds weight were lost. Still time for more to join.

The Muskerry Vintage and Veteran Car Club committee would like to say a very sincere word of thanks to all those who supported their Gala Dinner Dance which   was held at theAbbey Hotel  on Saturday night .

The meetings to plan the future of the Stations continues around the Parish, Last weeks meeting at Cloghoula School was well attended, But for the benefit of those who missed it ,there is an open list at the Parish Office where names can be submitted. The number there is 02970043.and it is open on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday each week from 10am to 5pm.

In Aubane to-night and The Pastoral Centre in Town to-morrow Wednesday night both starting at 8.30.

Messages of Goodwill are coming in from all over the world on my reaching News Report 1.000. But please be reminded that every local News Reporter means just as much to the people of their areas. And now that C103 is repeating the day programs at night, our people in far away places can hear them in daytime where they are.

Here are the results of this weeks parish lotto draw which was held at the Mal Passo Bar on Sunday night. Numbers drawn were , 6, 15,22 29,  and the Jackpot was not won . €100 went to Eva Murphy, Old Coach Ave. the seller was Mgt. Murphy and she got €50 sellers prize.  €50 went to Geraldine Goggin, Minor Row. €20 each to  Kathryn and Chelsie Cleary, Clara Rd. Ursula Pomeroy, Clara Inn, Mary Coleman, Minor Row, MartinMcSweeney, Carriginma, Kathleen Linehan, Dromagh, Paddy Lane c/o Tom O Carroll, Mairead Daly, Mount Leader, and Patsy Mac, also of Mount Leader. Jackpot for next week €2,400 the draw at McCarthys Bar on Sunday night.
