Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this beautiful sunny Tuesday morning  so far…

The Corpus Christi parade was held in the town on Sunday and while some of our people were taking part in it, many others were taking part in the closing ceremonies of the 50th Eucharistic Congress in Dublin. I was thankful to God for giving me the opportunity of being in Dublin. It was an arduous day in many ways but one that nobody would want to miss . Lots of our people made the journey more than once during the week and all were filled with wonder and awe of the great, historic event.

Following the torrential rain during the week for some of the ceremonies, we were blessed with fine weather on Sunday. Sean Radley was there cameras and recorders in hand and he will bring it you when LTV2 programs resume in the Fall, le conaimh De.

I’ve been asked to remind you again about the Gathering. The Gathering is an event to be held here next year, 2013. It’s a country wide effort to bring people home to Ireland and there is a wide ranging program of events being prepared to welcome them.

Our committee, here in Millstreet, have been holding regular meetings and to start the year off they plan to make a 2013 calendar. Comprising of photographs sent in by you, the people. Now they want you to browse through your favourite shots be they of your people here in Ireland or in far away places. Dig out your best and hand them in to any committee member.
