By Tim Kiely: We beat Banteer 4-0 at home this morning to keep our push for the league title on track. We came out of the blocks well and had an early chance when Barry Lawlor volleyed off the post. The rebound fell to Michael Murphy but his shot was smothered by the keeper. After 10 mins we took the lead. Eamon O Keeffe’s cross found Murphy at the back post and he made no mistake with the finish. 10 mins later Lawlor picked up the ball on the wing after a corner had been cleared and his cross made it all the way to the back of the net to make it 2-0. We kept the pressure on and got the 3rd 5 mins before half time. Paul Dawson swung in a corner from the right and Mick Collins got across his man to flick a header to the net. Death Notice: Con O’Brien

The death has occurred on Friday, March 04, 2011 of Con O’Brien of Carrigaphooka, Macroom, Cork. Peacefully at Cork University Hospital, Con (late of Ballydaly), (retired US Airforce), beloved husband Sheila (nee Cremin), sadly missed by his wife, sister, brothers, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, extended family, relatives and friends. Reposing at Fitz-Geralds Funeral home from 7.00pm today, Saturday evening, with removal at 8.30pm to Macroom Church. Funeral on Sunday, after 12 noon Mass, to St. Colman’s Cemetery, Macroom. May He Rest In Peace.
