Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this rather wintery Tuesday morning.

And the big news this morning from Millstreet is, that following the highly successful Annual Pony Show that was held here last week, it has been announced  the Green Glens have been awarded  the European Pony Show for the year 2014. Many congratulations to Noel C. and the Duggan family on this prestigious honour.

This weekend will see a return of the mighty self-build Exhibition at the Green Glens arena. It runs from the 8 to the 10th. Everything to do with building and beautifying the home and garden, all under one roof. Restaurant etc will be up and running. A great place to visit.

A very important public meeting will be held in Dromtarriffe Hall to-night starting at 7 o’clock. The agenda will include securuty, fire prevention,  safety and isolation and loneliness. Guests speakers will attend and all are welcome.

The AGM of our local GAA Club will be held at the GAA Hall on Saturday night November 5th starting at 8 and all are welcome.

Our new Astro Turf Pitch is proving very popular  with more and more groups coming on stream to use it.

And the news you’ve all been waiting for. LTV is returning 🙂 on November 13th in Macroom, and on the 14th in Millstreet. The crew are making every effort to extend its range, so keep in touch with our website and there you will get the latest update on how to access the programs. Please wish us luck.

The AGM of our Vintage Club will be held at the Parish Centre to-night starting at 8 and all are welcome.

And on November 13th up in Aubane  Social Centre a Style coach will attend. Beautiful garments will be on display, So make a note of it for Nov13th in Aubane. All welcome.

Still with Aubane the proceeds of their recent Fancy Dress  Ball will be handed over to our own Reach Out Cancer Group. this Sunday evening Nov. 10th at the Wallis Arms Hotel at 8 o’clock and all are welcome.

The sale of tickets for the Womens Little Christmas party on January 3rd went ahead on Friday night at the GAA Hall. Demand was brisk as was expected. Some tickets are still available. To book yours ring Mairead at 087 903 14 75.

There’s a bus going  on a Shopping Trip to Newry on Saturday November 16th. Costing a mere  €35 per-person. Starting from Millstreet, stopping at Rathcoole, Lyre, Nadd, Banteer, Kanturk and Mallow, To book your seat contact Jerry Lehane right away @ 087 28 33 696.

Our Church ceremonies were very well attended over the weekend,  and Masses for the dead will continue all through the month of November. And further to that the Blessing of the Graves in All our cemetries will take place on next Sunday November 10th. Church yard following the 11.30 Mass St Mary’s at 12.45 and Drishane at 1pm.

On  Saturday  November 23rd  at 6.30.a special commemorative Mass will be said for all those who passed away during the year 2013. There’s a book in the Church where people can enter the names of loved ones who died during this year.

A  follow up meeting on deeper  conversation with the theme “Do Not Worry” will be held on Wednesday November 13th at 7pm. And All Are welcome.

IRD Duhallow are hosting a Gala Concert  on this Thursday night,in conjunction with the Duhallow Womens Forum. It’s entitlen “The Role of Women in Traditional  Irish Music”. Booking is essential So give them a ring at 029 60633.

Some items from Cullen. Cullen Young at Heart Evening out to INEC on Friday November 15th. It includes Dinner followed by Mick Flaven & Philomena Begley  in concert. Please book before 11th.

Berties Art Classes at the GAA Hall every Tuesday night at 7,30.

Knitting club at our Adult Learning Centre every Tuesday night from 7-9 .

And 45Drive at the Canon O Donovan Centre again every Tuesday night.

Community Singers, or should I say Singing for Fun, with Marie Twomey at the Parish Centre every Thursday night at 7.30 new members always welcome.

Apart from these, there is a host of leisure-time activities being held in the area. Ask around and you’ll find on to suit you. Above all don’t feel left out.

Here are the results of this weeks parish lotto draw which was held at McCarthys Bar on Sunday night  Numbers drawn were,
9,   11, 12, 24 and the Jackpot was not won.
€100 went to Joan O Riordan Murphys Tce. The seller was  Herlihys Centra, and they got €50 sellers prize,
