Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to news report 1110 from Millstreet. Fondest Greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this lovely sunny  Tuesday morning, following a wet night.

It is Easter Tuesday and one of our most important church festivals is over for another year . The weekend has left us with some great memories of a lot of very successful events , for the most part, all were  blessed with fine weather. The Holy Week ceremonies were very well attended throughout. And at the final mass on Sunday Canon John FitzGerald thanked all those who helped in any way to make it so in keeping with what Lent and Easter is all about. Many thanks to our dear Canon John himself who lorded over it all singlehandedly.

Following 11.30 Mass on Sunday we had the Annual Commemoration at the monument in the town square. Our Pipe Band was there and once again the popular Tony Lane of Skibbereen gave the oration to the large crowd who were in attendance.

Later on all roads were leading to Mount Leader for the annual Easter Sunday Vintage Rally, which was held at K&L Industrial Estate.

It was a wonderful event with something for everyone, from toys to vintage cars and tractors, from donkeys and goats to Bric-a-brac, plants flowers and teas, and live music to swell the atmosphere. Well done again to the organisers.

Meanwhile up at our beautiful Country Park the crowds were in awe of the spectacular features that have been added since last year. There was fun and games for the children and their Eco Easter Camp continues for a few more days. To get details of this ring them at 029 70810.or look up their Website.
