Following the lotto draw on Sunday night the Town Development Group held their draw with fine prizes to be won.   First prize of a 32inch flat-screen TV went Niall O Brien, Ballydaly, Second prize of a monster Christmas Hamper to Eileen Kiely, The Bridge and a €100 cheque went to Denis Healy,
Church St.

The towns shopping spree goes on all this week, with lots of Christmas gift ideas in the shops and €1,500 worth of vouchers to be won.

Here are the results of this week’s parish lotto draw which was held at Tarrants Bar on Sunday night. Numbers drawn were  5, 17, 29, 30 and the Jackpot was not won . €100 went to The Lyons Family, Banteer, the seller was Tony O Brien and he got €50 sellers prize, €50 went to Susan
FitzGerald, Tullig, €20 each to Con O Connor, Rathrue, Derry Curtin, Drishane, Ellie-May and Auntie c/o Marie Twomey, Margaret. Hanretty, Balbriggan, Matthew Creedon, Aubane, Breda Kelleher, Tullig, Con O Connor Rathrue, and Connie O Mahony, The Bridge. Jackpot for next week, €3, 400 the draw at the Bush Bar on Sunday night.

This week also will see the first of the small Christmas trees being put on the houses in town. If you did not get yours yet please order it now. And there will be a €100 prize for the best private house front and also for the best business front. Judging for these will be on December 23rd. They
are urging people to be creative and imaginative in the decorating of the homes, showing pride of place and full of determination for the future. And, please remember that any town is only as good as the support it gets from the people, so do shop at home whenever possible.

I have a notice to say that good quality children DVDs are urgently needed at Crumlin Rd Hospital for Sick Children. Please hand them in at our Post Office and Patricia Moynihan will deliver them in person to the Hospital, where they will help to cheer up the little ones who ill there.

Christmas Cards in aid of various charities are available at our Post Office and Books of stamps will include one free in the run up to Christmas.

The annual 45 Drive in aid of our local Hospital will be held at the Green Glens on December 8th. At 8p.m. Boxing at the Green Glens on December 10th when the Rylane Club take on the Garda Boxing team. Details on our Website.

The Eucharistic Congress Bell is coming to town on Friday next November 25th. As part of its journey around the country. It is indeed a very exciting occasion. It will arrive with Prayers at 7pm, followed by Mass at 7.30, and there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament until 9. Everybody is welcome to come and take part in this historic and Holy event.

The 6.30 Mass this Saturday November 26th will be a special remembrance Mass for all those who passed away during the year. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament every Wednesday from 10.30 am to 10.30pm. In the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. There was a very encouraging start to our singing Club last Thursday in spite of the terrible weather and two local funerals. It is a weekly event starting at the Youth Centre, on Thursday nights at 7.30, open to men and women. Admission €5.

Choir practice at the Parish Centre every Wednesday night at 8pm. New members welcome.

The Board of Management of Cullen National School want to say a sincere word of thanks all at the Glen Theatre who raised €1,500 for their school fund recently.

A note from IRD Duhallow to say that they are hosting Multicultural Christmas Community Days. In Rathmore on December 5th, Kanturk December 6th,Millstreet December 7th. It is all part of their Equality Working Group scheme. Free of charge and there will be Refreshments and Special Guests

Set-dancing at the pub in Carriganima on Wednesday night.   Seanie and Matt celebrate their 1st year in business with a gala this Saturday night Music by Peter Lane. Their next Traditional night is Tuesday November 29th Special guest Catriona O Donovan.

Fundraising Coffee morning in aid of Marymount Hospice at Kilcorney Social Centre on Sunday next from 11a.m. to 3p.m. Notes for the Christmas Issue of Clara News went in to the Editor at the
Weekend. And is due in the shops on December 4th.

Our Community School annual Play will be staged on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (November 22, 23 ,24) nights this week. This year they are staging “It Runs in the Family”. Starts each night at 8,  please  give them  your full support.

Mary C O’Sullivan publishes a book  “How it Was”, in Cullen Community Centre on Friday, December 2 at 8pm.

Proceeds go to worthy Cullen and Dromtariffe groups.

The Duhallow Scor na nOg Finals take place in the Edel Quinn Hall, Kanturk on this Saturday commencing at 6pm.

Around the Fireside: On Wednesday 28th December a night of stories and song around the fireside
will take place in the Aubane Community Centre commencing at 8.30 pm sharp. Everybody is welcome.

Santa Claus is visiting Aubane: On Sunday December Santa Claus will pay a visit to the boys and girls in the Aubane Community Centre on Sunday 4th December commencing at 2.00 pm. All are welcome. A day of fun is guaranteed with face painting and a bouncing castle. Bring your camera on the day to capture that perfect moment with Santa.

Annual Christmas Party for Aubane and the Surrounding Areas:

The Annual Mass and Christmas Party for the Aubane community and surrounding
area takes place in the Aubane Community Centre on Friday 9th December

at 8.15 pm. A great night of food and entertainment is guaranteed.

Annual Christmas Morning Climb:

The Annual Christmas Morning Climb takes place on Sunday 25th December at
10.30 am and the meeting place is the St  John’s Well Car park.

The sponsorship cards will be available from myself or from any Social Club
member. This year the proceeds of the climb will be in aid of St John’s
