Fondest greetings dear listeners and  I wish you all the very best on this dull but calm and pleasant  Tuesday morning.

A million congratulations to Timmy Lehane from Aubane, who won the All-Ireland Final Of the  Novice Seniors Boxing Championship at the National Stadium in Dublin on Saturday night at 64 Kgs.

Dean Desmond at 81 Kg competed as well and won the Semi Final on Friday night but sadly was beaten by one point in the Final on Saturday night.

So well done to them and to all concerned with then.

The Farm Machinery Show which was held at the Green Glens for three days last week drew large crowds from near and far. The amount of exhibits on display was well up on former years, and the fact that it was opened until 10.30 each night gave every body a chance to come and see.

On Friday night last the people of Ballydaly revelled in the glories of their involvement with the GAA over the past 60 years. Over two hundred and twenty avid fans enjoyed a beautiful meal at the Wallis Arms Hotel and this was followed by Presentations, reminiscing and a joyful event all round. Margaret Murphy (O’Brien) recited wonderful poems recalling past glories. Their big night was recorded on film for posterity and was eagerly admired several times since. We wish them every success for the future.

The AGM of Millstreet Credit Union will be held at their office on Friday January 28th. Starting at 8.30.Voting will take place for 3 members each, of the Board of Directors and Supervisors. Nomination Forms are available at the Credit Union.

And also on January 28th a monster Table Quiz will be held at the Community School to help raise funds to send four 5th yr students to Lourdes as helpers to Pilgrims with Special Needs .

And again on January 28th out at the Launa Bar in Ballinagree they will have the Mayors Ball. Jackie Spillane is the Mayor, Music by Pacific Blue, and a great night is assured.

Family Tree Mass and Afternoon of Prayer at Banteer on Sunday January 30th, at 3pm.

The battle of the bulge goes on in Cullen every Monday night. Last night the numbers were up again and 246 lbs weight were lost.

Tune in on Thursday night at 10 for this weeks program of LTV2. and at Monday nights recording we were glad to welcome  3rd yr. media  student Tadg Curtin, of Kilcorney. Tadg who is on work experience, will be of tremendous value to the Station for the rest of the term.

Our Knitting Club is on every Tuesday night at the Adult Education Centre in the Main Street from 7 to 9. All are welcome and new crafts invited.

A note here from Breda at our local Library, to say that a St. Brigid’s Crossmaking workshop will take place at Millstreet library on Fri. Jan 28th from 3-4pm. All are welcome.

And to help wile away the rest of the Winter, some people are about to try a few New Things, such as a local version of “Come Dine With Me”.  Games at home with a few friends such as Cards, Scrabble, Rings, Darts , and lots more. And  there are always people willing to help you get started. Contact us if you are interested.

A note here to say that the Kerry Diocesan Youth Service are about to run projects for Secondary School Students out of our Youth Centre during the coming term. Those interested are invited to attend a meeting at the Youth Centre to-morrow Wednesday at 1.15pm.

And finally I want to wish every success to the lovely Aine Collins who will launch her General  Election Campain  for Fine Gael at the Wallis Arms Hotel on next Monday night January 31th at 8pm. Please give Mn na h-Eireann a chance to lead the way. MEP Sean Kelly will be Special guest  on the night.

The Duhallow Senior Scor Finals take place in Kanturk Golf Club on this Friday nightJanuary 28th, startng  at 8pm.

Here are the results of this weeks parish lotto draw which was held at Tarrants Bar on Sunday night .
