Millstreet Primary Schools Parents Association Draw

Millstreet Primary Schools Parents Association are running a 50/50 draw which went live just before the summer. The main drive behind this initiative is to raise money for our two local primary schools here in Millstreet.

It is one ticket for €5 euro or three for €10 euro.

There will be one winner who will take away 50% of the jackpot, with the other 50% being donated to the two schools.

https://www.lottoraiser.ie/Millstreet

Please spread the word to as many people as you can. The jackpot increases with each ticket sold.

The draw will run until September 19th and we hope to do something that day to mark the draw and announce the winner.

Thanks again to everyone for your support. As always it is greatly appreciated.

Eily’s Report – 1st September

Dia is Mhuire díobh go léir a cáirde and welcome to my Report.

It was a first and it was a brave venture and it was great. The Curry night organised by the Community Council was a wonderful success. The sturdy marquee which was erected in Mary Hickie’s yard by kind permission stood the test of strong gales of wind. It was put it to the test more than once, but the solid foundation never yielded. It was very well attended. People needed a get-away-from-it-all something and this was it. In our own town, what could be nicer than to gather us all together for an impromptu, carefree event to brighten up the scene. We had almost forgotten what it was like to relax and throw our cares to the wind ,even  for a few hours. I loved the way the young people were brought in to help.  We got to know them and they saw to our every need. They brought us our starters. After that we met many others as we made our way outside to collect our main course. Members of the Community Council were at our at every beck and call at the five o’clock sitting.  Under the lights for the eight o’clock they were able to partake of the hilarity themselves. The best girl in Town, Mary Hickie had family and friends at her table and I’m told she even took the floor and danced before the night was over. All in all it was the real let –your-hair-down thing and well done to the organisers for taking us out of the doldrums for a few carefree hours.
