Hello Michael
My name is Celine Aders and I live in Sydney. My great great grandfather Joseph Aldworth was a direct descendant from the Newmarket Aldworths, according to family tradition. We plan to visit Newmarket on June 6 2025 and hope to meet with someone in the Duhallow Ancestry Group.
Hi Celine,
I just came across your message and wanted to reach out. Like you, I’m researching my great great grandfather who came from Newmarket and emigrated to Australia. According to his immigration papers, he worked for the Aldworth family as an employee and tenant farmer before leaving Ireland in 1844.
I’m keen to find out more about his life in Newmarket and any further connections to the Aldworth estate. I live in Central West NSW and, like you, I’m hoping to trace more about the Aldworths of Newmarket and their wider story as it relates to us with a follow up trip in September.
I’d love to hear how your visit to Newmarket went—were you able to meet with anyone from the Duhallow Ancestry Group? And if you discovered any helpful information or make any connections while there?
It’s great to come across someone on such a similar path. I’d really appreciate hearing anything you’d be happy to share.
Best wishes,
Deb McAuliffe
