MILLSTREET ICA GUILD

GOLDEN JUBILEE

Homepage

The ICA was founded in Millstreet on July 12 1957.  It was started by Fr Michael Cashman, Tullig, Millstreet.
The first meeting was held in the Carnegie Hall on Wednesday, August 7, 1957, when 33 members attended.  Nine of those are still with us.  Mrs Creedon, Laught (Nora Forde) is still a member and attends all the meetings and functions.  The guild has 30 members at present and we meet in the GAA Hall in Millstreet on the third Tuesday of every month, from September to May.  At those meetings the guild has demonstrations and talks on different subjects.
They hope to erect a plaque on the wall of the Carnegie Hall in Millstreet later on in the summer to commemorate 50 years of ICA in Millstreet.
