Hi all, I would like to thank you for your hospitality during the MGA World Championships. The atmosphere at the opening ceremony was fantastic. The shop keepers dressing their windows was truly amazing. The time you took to decorate the streets all encompassed on making us as visitors very welcome and it will be one of my greatest cherished memories. Thank you once again to all the good people of Millstreet, best wishes, Alison Davies, Swansea.
The much anticipated Parade through Millstreet Town commences this Tuesday evening (12th July) at 6:30 with the 150 ponies and riders from some 20 countries participating in the superbly colourful event. The schedule is as follows:
Ponies leave Green Glens and trot through the town up to the Fair Field where they will then arrange to organise in teams of five taking their place behind Millstreet Pipe Band which will be waiting at the Eurovision Wall in Minor Row.
The Parade then proceeds up Minor Row to The Square where each team will pause in front of the Reviewing Stand which is located on the extended footpath in front of the Wallis Arms Hotel – to be officially welcomed – country by country.
Millstreet Pipe Band will continue to play in The Square as each Team pauses, is introduced and then proceeds down Main Street, down Station Road to the Green Glens Arena where magnificent musical entertainment will be provided by the very famous Liam O’Connor and his truly marvellous Group.
We encourage people to visit not only the Opening Parade but the really exciting competitions at Green Glens with the spectacular final taking place on Saturday 16th July. Here we view more of the wonderfully colourful welcoming road signs which Coordinator Conor O’Leary and his superbly dedicated Committee have just installed.
