Team Coach supreme, Jimmy Murphy, shares the following uplifting facts about the wonderfully successful St. John’s GAA Club (with Players from Aubane, Mushera, Millstreet, Kilcorney and beyond) especially after being victorious in the recent Final played at Ovens:
“A truly wonderful Team but also a truly unique Team. Four families of brothers and two O’Keeffes – Denis and Paddy. The Sheahans Tom and Adrian. The Kellehers Brian and Denis. The Corkerys Donal, Neil and Paudie. Also Dave Barrett – son of Selector, John Barrett. Dave is Uncle to Eric and Eoin. But most unique of all must be Father and Son – Huey and Kevin Sheahan. Truly unique stats and all the Team have great friendships.”
We thank Jimmy for sharing such very interesting and quite fascinating facts about an amazing GAA team with superbly inspiring dedication and sporting spirit. (S.R.)
Delighted to receive from wonderfully dedicated Team Coach, Jimmy Murphy the uplifting news this evening. “A great win by St.John’s at Ovens today. A fantastic display of football and heart. They are an outstanding bunch of Players. The exciting score: St. John’s 1 – 9 to Kilmurry 1 – 8 ” shared by Jimmy on text shortly after the game. Sincere congratulations to Aubane’s St. John’s G.A.A. Club’s truly magnificent win in the Junior B Football Championship on Saturday night in Millstreet Town Park. The very popular Club has members from not just Aubane and Mushera but well beyond. At the Club’s Annual Church gate Collection over the weekend not just one but two superb Cups were proudly displayed. Trainer Jimmy Murphy had a very busy schedule on Saturday night as he made it in time following the successful outcome in the important match to be present at “The Pub” in Carriganima to present substantial cheques to both Millstreet and Macroom Hospitals (fuller pictorial report on that event later) as a result of the Annual Fun Run in Carriganima. Since this event began a most impressive €13,000.00 has been presented to assist fundraising in the hospitals. Here we share some 11 images from the uplifting weekend.
