Millstreet Tidy Towns Association Celebrates Success & Acknowledges Help

Noreen Dennehy, as one of the principal co-ordinators in Millstreet Tidy Towns Association, is presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers at the Wallis Arms Hotel tonight (5th Sept.) on the occasion of a celebratory function when members of the dedicated Association marked the fact they wished to acknowledge the help accorded on the many Thursday night clean-up projects. And purely coincidentally, Millstreet was awarded not only a national bronze medal in category D but also a number of financial awards announced earlier today in Dublin at the National Tidy Towns Awards 2011 ceremony. Noreen in her address very especially expressed sincere thanks to Millstreet Macra na Feirme for their much appreciated help over the past number of months. With a hugely impressive mark of 291 Millstreet is only 19 marks behind Ireland's 2011 Tidiest Town, Killarney. Congratulations to both Killarney and Millstreet. Tonight's get together involved a group who assembled and worked together every Thursday night for the clean-up project over the past season. The overall Millstreet Tidy Towns Association will celebrate today's national award at a later point. (S.R.)
