Superb Response to Millstreet Gramophone Circle Programme

On Friday, 12th Oct. 2018 Millstreet Gramophone Circle held its monthly meeting at the splendid Halloween decorated Millstreet Day Care Centre where a full programme of recordings, song and music was presented before a large appreciative audience.  Oftentimes we are asked what type of programme is shared.  So illustrated below is the programme which I presented last night.   Each presenter shares different selections on other nights.  It will be Maurice Linehan who presents at “The Music Room” in Boherbue on Thursday, 1st Nov. 2018.   Click on the images below to enlarge.  (S.R.)

Millstreet Gramophone Circle Presentation Tonight at 8:15

This month’s meeting of Millstreet Gramophone Circle which takes place this Friday, 12th Oct. 2018 at 8.15pm in Millstreet Day Care Centre, Clara Road includes a broad selection of music and song with features on Museum Audio Archives, the World of Disney and the Walton Radio Programme.  Our Presenter is yours truly.  All are very welcome.  (S.R.)

Next “Radio Treasures” on Tuesday 10th July from 9:30 until 11:00pm

There is no transmission of “Radio Treasures” on Tuesday 3rd July on www.corkmusicstation.com.   Broadcasts will resume on Tues., 10th July at 9:30pm when we shall feature lots of superb music and song as well as interesting interviews at 10:00pm.  We shall be referring also to recent events such as the recent Circuit of Ireland Rally Stages Revisited where lots of Ford Escorts appeared (as illustrated below) and we shall chat about the June presentation by Joe Kennelly at Millstreet Gramophone Circle (also illustrated here).   The next Gramophone Circle presentation takes place on our national Culture Night on 21st September and will be given by Maurice Linehan.  Click on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)

Splendid Musical Presentation in Boherbue by Tim Murphy

Tim Murphy presented a superb programme of music and song at “The Music Room” in Boherbue on Thursday, 5th April 2018.   To mark the season one of Tim’s excellent tracks was “Easter Parade” with Judy Garland and Fred Astaire.  Here we share some images from the very enjoyable occasion which was attended by many people despite the very wet weather.  Millstreet Gramophone Circle’s next presentation is by Ivor Horton on Friday, 20th April 2018 (S.R.) Margaret Presented Superb Programme at Gramophone Circle

On Friday, 23rd March 2018 it was Margaret Moynihan of Killarney Road, Millstreet who presented a truly magnificent selection of songs and music at our Gramophone Circle.   The capacity audience was especially impressed by the 1990s recording of a live concert in Italy which featured the late Luciano Pavarotti and the late Dolores O’Riordan in an exquisite duet of “Ave Maria”.  Here we share two images from the very enjoyable event which shows just a section of the attendance with Margaret holding the CD.  Click on the pictures to enlarge.  (S.R.) Gramophone Meeting Deferred to 17th Nov. 2017

In the interest of safety regarding the upcoming Storm Brian the scheduled meeting of Millstreet Gramophone Circle tonight has been deferred to Friday, 17th Nov. at 8:15pm  when Con Kelleher of Cloghoulabeg, Millstreet will present a much anticipated programme on that occasion.  (S.R.)

Millstreet Gramophone Circle at Canon O’Donovan Day Care Centre on Friday

This month’s meeting of Millstreet Gramophone Circle which takes place this Friday, 28th Oct. 2016 at 8.15pm was originally scheduled to take place in Millstreet GAA Community Hall.  It will now be taking place at the Canon O’Donovan Millstreet Day Care Centre which has recently been superbly renovated.  Our Presenter is Joe Kennelly of Inniscarra and Millstreet.  All are very welcome.  (S.R.)

Very Successful Listeners’ Choices at Gramophone Circle Tonight – Looking Forward to Christmas Presentations in Boherbue and Millstreet

Our annual Listeners’ Choice presentation at Millstreet Gramophone Circle tonight (20th Nov. 2015) was a splendid success with many of our regular attendees sharing some truly glorious musical choices combined with excellent background information and humorous stories.   Our Christmas presentation takes place on Friday, 18th December at 8.15pm and will be given by, as always, Margaret McCarron of Bandon and Cullen (sister of renowned Poet, Bernard O’Donoghue).

Con’s Wonderfully Entertaining Gramophone Presentation

Pictured at centre, Con Kelleher of Cloghoulabeg gave a most entertaining presentation in Millstreet Day Care Centre at Millstreet Gramphone Circle on Friday, 16th January.  Despite the challenging weather conditions there was a large attendance that truly enjoyed not only the marvellous musical selection but Con's very witty and comprehensive introductions. Millstreet Gramophone Circle this Friday at 8.30pm

The monthly meeting of Millstreet Gramophone Circle takes place this Friday, 21st Nov. (Presentation Day) at 8.30pm (not 8.15 which is our usual time) at Millstreet Day Care Centre in Clara Road.  Our Presenter this month is Michael Drew of Boherbue.   All are very welcome to what promises to be a most enjoyable evening of Michael’s musical choices.   Admission is free and we have a Draw after the end of part one.  (S.R.)

It was most enjoyable listening to Bernard's reason for his twenty choices and receiving such fascinating backgrounds to the various pieces.  Seated also (from left) Heather - Bernard's wife and Margaret McCarron - Bernard's sister.  Also included are some of the large attendance.
