Best of luck to the Millstreet team of Liam Flynn, Pat Sheehan, Jerry Doody, and John Tarrant who take part in the All Ireland Scór Sinsear Final of the Tráth na gCeisteanna Boird (Table Quiz), at the City West Hotel in Dublin tomorrow morning April 25th at 11am.
Best of luck also to Cork‘s only other competitors – Boherbue who take part in the Rince Seit (Set Dancing).
Result: Millstreet finished 10th out of 27. As one of the lads said, “The questions just didn’t suit”
Millstreet GAA published a 12 page Souvenir Booklet at it’s Celebration Banquet in the Dromhall Hotel last Saturday night January 24th 2015. It has lots of nice photos and information. If you don’t have it, click on this link to view it online.
We thank Marie Twomey for the important update that there will be a Victory Parade through Millstreet Town on this historic Saturday night, 25th Oct. 2014 starting at Colemans in Minor Row. Millstreet Pipe Band leading the Champions…what a magnificent welcome is assured for the Gallant GAA Ambassadors – The Victorious Millstreet Junior A Football Heroes. (S.R.)
Sincere congratulations to the truly gallant Millstreet Footballers who have just won a hugely exciting County Final. Lots of expert reports later by the experienced GAA reporters. And we are just preparing a feature to illustrate the amazing support which has been demonstrated everywhere. A royal welcome will await the Champions later tonight. We shall keep you posted on developments. (S.R.)
Well known Millstreet man John Tarrant has succeeded in winning a place in the last eight of the GAA’s All-Ireland 125 Quiz. The semi-final was hosted by the ‘Memory Man’ Jimmy Magee on August 28th last, and John who is no stranger to quizzes (Scór Senior, table quizzes etc) excelled and qualified for the final which will be held on Friday 18 September in the GAA Museum in Croke Park.
John has been involved in sport and journalism for years now. He is PRO with Millstreet and Duhallow and a columnist and photographer with the Corkman newspaper, as well as working a full time job!
If he wins he will make a guest appearance on the Sunday Game on RTE2 that same night, a trophy, tickets to the All Ireland Football final amongst other prizes. So best of luck to John from everyone here.
