It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the temporary closure of our gym, beginning 9pm on Wednesday 21st October in response to the Governments decision to move to Level 5 of the national COVID 19 plan. All memberships will be frozen from the time we close our doors until the day we reopen.
We look forward to seeing everybody again once we are permitted to re open for business. Until then, we ask that everybody please stay safe, stay active and stay healthy. However, we will not be going quiet on social media. We will still be providing you with home workouts, tasty recipes and quick tips to help still progress while at home. If anybody would like a custom program made for them that utilises the equipment they have available to them, please get in touch and we will arrange something for you free of charge. This will be a challenging time for some people, so please stay in touch, check in with each other and reach out if you find that you are struggling. We are all in this together.
We share a selection of images recorded today (Fri. 16th Oct. 2020) mainly in Millstreet Town Park where we experienced a double rainbow and the fascinating colours of Autumn 2020. Before that we have been requested to help to promote a forthcoming praiseworthy event:
A Coffee Morning/Afternoon is scheduled to take place at Guerin’s Family Shop in Ballydaly on Saturday, 24th Oct. from 10am to 6pm & on Sunday, 25th Oct. 10.30am to 1.00pm…..in aid of St. Joseph’s Community Hospital, Millstreet. Tea, Coffee, Latte, Drinking Chocolate and Cappuccino served. This event will take place only if COVID-19 Restrictions allow.
Today Issue 28 of “Discover Duhallow” appeared in the shops and includes a superb feature written by Daniel Daly who is Manager supreme and Personal Trainer at Millstreet Community Gym. Tap on the images to enlarge. (S.R.)
On behalf of Millstreet Community Council, I would like to thank all those involved in the production of the Millstreet Calendar 2016. We appreciate the photos that were supplied by all the local photographers that made the final cut for this year’s print. I would like to thank Justin for his design work and his prints that made the calendar so amazing and memorable. Great credit is due to members of the Community Council for distributing the calendars to sellers and also to the members of the community/shops/businesses who displayed and sold the issues. Without this support, this venture would not be sustainable. A special work of thanks goes to Katelyn, Lydia and Christian Murphy who help every year with selling the calendars at the Christmas market. There were more than 600 calendars sold in total and this year’s proceeds go towards the upkeep and maintenance of our newly furbished Gym. To conclude, I would like to acknowledge the people who purchase the calendar every year, both at home and abroad and I thank you all sincerely for supporting this fund raising venture. I hope that you enjoy the production. – from Marie Twomey
