Millstreet 5th year student helpers on Lourdes pilgrimage – Easter 2018

Once again 5th year students from Millstreet Community School have been given the opportunity to go to Lourdes as helpers with the Irish Pilgrimage Trust (IHCPT).  Ciara Manning and Denise Healy will be joining Group 126 for a week at Easter 2018.  They follow in a long line of students who have travelled as helpers for the Easter Pilgrimage and who have all come back with glowing reports about the experience.

As in previous years, fundraising events will be held to help cover the flight and travel costs for their week in Lourdes (€650/person).  The first event will be a bake sale to be held on Saturday 16th December in Millstreet parish centre after the 6.30pm Mass.  Your support is appreciated.

International Support for IHCPT Lourdes Project 2017

Úna Buckley and Dervla Murphy with Millstreet Community School Chaplain, John Magee promoting the upcoming fundraising Quiz at the Wallis Arms Hotel on Fri. 3rd March. When Patrick O’Leary of Louisville, Kentucky read about the upcoming event he sent €60.00 to Millstreet Museum to be presented to the two inspiring Students who will be representing their school on the IHCPT Project in Lourdes in April 2017. Such international support by a true gentleman with Adrivale, Millstreet roots is indeed greatly appreciated. Click on the images to enlarge. (S.R.)
The official presentation of Patrick’s very generous support including his letter in which he had also offered to provide a further prize for the Draw on the night – an item from Kentucky and its very famous equestrian tradition. Úna and Dervla will be writing to express thanks to Patrick (who is to revisit Ireland in July 2017). Also included in the above picture which was taken by Frances Moynihan (Deputy Principal) is Pat Pigott, Principal, Millstreet Community School.
