Millstreet Vintage Club Vintage and Family Fun Day an Outstanding Success.

Millstreet Vintage Club and Cancer Connect would like to thank Everybody that came out to Support our Show on Sunday last. The Show which was thankfully Blessed with fine weather was an outstanding success with great support on the the day, over 150 vehicles were on display and to all the people that brought out there beautiful exhibits from both near and far. We thank each and every one of you for making the journey, to all the club members who helped out and worked very hard both on the lead up to the event and on the day itself many many thanks. To everybody that helped in anyway no matter how big or small we thank you all very much, to Millstreet GAA, the Town Park Committee, and Millstreet Soccer Club we are most grateful for the use of a top class venue and facilities, without your help and support the event would not have been the success that it was. A very big thank you to all our very generous sponsors who very kindly donated great prizes for our draw. To Sgt. Paul Lynch and his team, we thank them very much for keeping traffic flow and parking facilities running like clockwork, to the Millstreet Fire Brigade Crew for providing us with their time and for giving an insight into the skills and dedication of their challenging job, to the Broomhill Tractor Build Team for bringing their Championship Winning Tractor Build to the Show, to the Millstreet Pipe Band, and to Danny and Pat of Back on Track for providing great Music and Entertainment. To all the People who turned up with exhibits, food stalls, entertainment for the kids etc, to the media who did a great job in getting the word out there, including John Tarrant of The Corkman, C103 Mallow, Millstreet.ie Website, Corkmusicstation, Seán Radley, Willie Fitzgerald, LTV2, Eily Buckley, Andrew Pollock and Team of Irish Vintage Scene, Tom Corbett and Matthew Twomey. Also thanks to the following for there help: Jerry Lehane PC, Joan O`Mahony, Sharon Lane, Noel Buckley, Declan Casey, Dolly Ring, Mens Shed, and K+L Delivieries. We hope everyone enjoyed the Day and in due course we will be presenting a Cheque with the proceeds from the Day to a very worthy and well deserved Cause in Cancer Connect.

Our next “Radio Treasures” on Internet Radio Cork Music Station will be broadcast on American Independence Day – Tuesday 4th July 2017 from 9:30 to 11:00pm.   Since we’ve now commenced transmitting on Internet Radio we note an increasing number of new Listeners.  Much of this is because it is now much easier to access our Local Radio Station (broadcast globally) once one has an Internet Radio.  A reminder of the steps to follow to access:

It is indeed a true milestone for Cork Music Station to have been launched from today (20th June 2017) on Internet Radio.  Up to now we were an online radio station accessed mainly through computer, ipad and phone.  All this will continue but now we are being broadcast on Internet Radio worldwide.   To discover this on your Internet Radio just go to Menu.  Look for Stations…Local Ireland….Country and that is where Cork Music Station is available as clear as could be worldwide.   Save the station on a particular number and that allows one to immediately turn on the station whenever one wishes by just pressing the chosen button number.   Cork Music Station is a 24/7 Station with the very best Country and Western plus Irish music and song.   Delighted to be involved with “Radio Treasures” on Tuesdays from 9:30 to 11:00pm.  Happy Listening!  (S.R.)

Cork Music Station Presenters’ Annual Get Together in Carriganima

This Saturday night (5th Nov. 2016) at “The Pub” in Carriganima many of the weekly Presenters of Cork Music Station will assemble at its annual Get Together for an evening of chat, song and music.   It’s a real opportunity to meet with the very popular Online Radio Station’s dedicated personnel.   Everyone is very welcome.  (S.R.)

Conor from Donoughmore is one of the chief coordinators of this magnificent world equestrian event. Dominic McSweeney with his wife Teresa and Cousin Claire Galvin pictured recently at the Clarence Hotel, Dublin where we recorded a very special interview with Dominic in which he recalled many wonderful memories of the"Star" Ballroom. We shall feature this on "Radio Treasures" at 10pm on next Tuesday on Cork Music Station. As a mark of respect to the late Clare Hickey we are deferring tonight's interview until next week. We extend sincere sympathy to the Hickey Family on the sad departure of Clare who has enriched all our lives. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam uasal. (S.R.)

Superb Petersens Bluegrass Group & Guests on “Radio Treasures” Tonight

“Radio Treasures” on www.corkmusicstation.com this Tuesday night (2nd June 2015) from 10.00pm to 11.15pm  features at 10.15pm the superb Petersens Bluegrass Group from Missouri, USA (pictured below) who recently performed during the Bealtaine Festival at Millstreet Library.  They are joined by Evan Lyons from Tipperary (in red) who is another gifted banjo player and also joined by another great musician from Lombardstown – John Nyhan (with beard) who acted as MC and is also involved in bringing other wonderful Bluegrass Musicians to Ireland. The next “Radio Treasures”  on Cork Music Station www.corkmusicstation.com at 9.30pm until 11.00pm will be broadcast on Tuesday 21st April.  There will not be a transmission of “Radio Treasures” on this Tuesday 14th April.   Therefore part two of Jack Buckley’s interview will not be broadcast until 10pm on Tuesday week. (S.R.)
