Kitten Found
Father Joe Murphy
When I was a Schoolboy Father Joe Murphy was a young man
I recall him and his sister and brothers Doney and the late Johnny Dan
And though of my existence he hardly would know
One cannot help but remember the great Father Joe.
Fifty five years as a priest something to celebrate
The man has been blessed in his great gift of faith
To his own higher self and to his god true
We must give him credit since credit he is due.

Blessing of the Cross to be Rescheduled
There has been a change of plan for the walk up Clara and blessing of the new cross, which had been scheduled for this Friday evening (July 20th @ 5pm). The walk is going ahead but only to the viewing point as the weather has left the path to the cross in bad condition. (Update: The walk has now been cancelled also). After a J1 trip abroad, Helen fell in love with her neighbour Jon Becarra, who serves in the Marine Corps. She now lives in Huntington Beach in southern California – otherwise know as The OC. Of the civil war days in Ireland long ago
And he was a brave rebel who fought the Black and Tan

Clara More wins at Cork Racecourse
Well done to Willie O’Leary whose horse Clara More landed The Mallow Print Handicap Hurdle tonight at Cork Racecourse, attracting morning support to move from 33/1 to an SP of 12/1. The seven-year-old son of Luso, who had bottom weight in the handicap, travelled well and picked up the lead two out. He quickened away after the last under Adrian Heskin to win by two and three parts from Frankie Flowers who set off in pursuit coming to the last, but made no further headway at 8/1.
Local trainer Eoghan O’Grady has Clara More and he said: “Unfortunately the owner Willie O’Leary couldn’t make it tonight. He’s from Millstreet, Co Cork and his claim to fame is that in 1963 he recorded the highest personal score against Kerry in a 60 minute Munster final.
“Clara More may go to Killarney next Thursday for a similar handicap. He won a point-to-point in the spring and he jumps well so [read more …] “Clara More wins at Cork Racecourse”
