As well as our Sunday services we also hold a Bible study on a mid-week evening. We are trying to make this meeting more accessible to the wider community. So on, the evenings of Thursday 14th and 21st March, we are having meetings in a classroom at Millstreet Community School which has been kindly granted to us.
In light of this Lenten season we will be considering two key decision times in the life of our Lord. On the 14th March we will be thinking about the temptations of Christ and on the 21st March we will be considering the moment of decision at Caesarea, Philippi after which Jesus “..set his face resolutely for Jerusalem” (Luke 9:51). These key Bible passages will be considered in an imaginative and informed way making use of recent archaeological discoveries in Israel.
The group will be inter-active as always with opportunities for questions and discussion together. These meetings are open to anyone and everyone and there will be no charge.
For further information please call Laurence on 064 6631613 or 087 2749044. We look forward to seeing you there.

Regional Report 1157 – 5th March 2013
by
Eily Buckley
Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to News report 1157 from Millstreet.
Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this very pleasant, sunny, Tuesday morning.
The Annual March fair was held in the Town on Sunday. It was cold but dry as it always is for March Fair. The town was lined with colourful stalls, and there was a wide range of livestock on
display in the outskirts. Prices were down with some reaching new lows where a pony was sold for €5 while laying hens were selling at €15 each. One rooster reached new heights when he flew up on the high roof of Barrett’s house and was quickly captured on camera by Sean Radley and in no time at all, made it to the web. Take a look.
We are delighted to say that the mighty Cork 20 Rally will be based at the Green Glens Arena this year. On October 4/5/6th.
And on to-morrow Wednesday evening, March 6th, it will be launched in our Town Square. Between 7 to 8 pm and all are welcome. Please come out in large numbers to greet this great event.

Thief nabbed trying to sell stolen goods online
It was a done deal as far as gardaí were concerned when they collared a young man who was trying to sell equipment he’d stolen on the internet.
Gardaí believe the man had been responsible for a mini crime-wave in North West Cork and East Kerry in recent weeks, during which he stole thousands of euro worth of lawnmowers, power-washers, and tools.
The thefts took place over the past two weeks from sheds and garages in Rathmore, Co Kerry and from the Boherbue, Cullen, and Millstreet areas in Co Cork.
The 22-year-old was driving a borrowed 4×4 and was also robbing number plates from garages.
Gardaí said he would attach the false number plates to the vehicle when he … read the full article in the Irish Examiner

Miriam’s Report from Belarus
I would like to again say a sincere thank you to everyone who helped me fundraise for my trip to Belarus. It was an amazing experience, one which I will never forget. It was a very busy week, we had long days and we were constantly on the move. We were split into groups each day and each group worked in a different part of the orphanage: the music therapy cabin, the gym or the therapy room. As it was Orthodox Christmas during our trip, we dressed up in Santa hats on Christmas Day to entertain the children. We also put on concerts for the residents in other institutions, which you can view clips from in the video below. My time in Belarus was extremely rewarding and one which I hope to repeat again in the future – Miriam O’Sullivan
